I am trying to use the raid0 setting. I have a new 750GB hard drive with OS on top and two 80GB hard drives. Now I only need two 80GB raid0 hard drives.
If I enable raid in my bio, Win7 gets this BSOD on startup. As far as I know, I need to install Raid Operators. But how can I do this?
It looks like the Win7 DVD contains the wrong driver installation option.
EDIT: I saw exactly who gave this as a separate option for most 4th and 5th sata ports. So I used to insert my OS disk and leave it in the IDE. Still not working, don’t I understand what exactly the idea is?

I bet that when you try to enable RAID, you are switching the SATA adapter to AHCI mode from “compatible” methods (where it works a lot like an IDE controller). Your adapter needs to be slightly larger in AHCI / RAID mode to enable RAID for everything connected to it. When you enable this option, it looks like a completely different device than Windows, which is why Windows usually says, “Hi! Where are all my statistics gone! »He does not know this type of device. The only solution that really needs to be addressed is to reinstall Windows.

I was able to reinstall the operating system.
1) Sometimes the RAID controller in this mobo has two additional SATA vents that are not part of the RAID controller, so move the OS there.2) Activate the RAID controller and this is wherever I went wrong, DO NOT CONFIGURE THE RAID YET.3) Wait for Windows to start, the drivers for the RAID controller will be installed. Otherwise, you can get the drivers from the MOBO website.4) Reload your raid and configure it :)5) You will need to format the drives when you turn them back on, as they may need to use the system type

Unable to create RAID 0 on a volume that already has Windows installed. You need to create the RAID first and then install Windows.

The only RAID you can really guarantee after installing Windows is software RAID.
Hardware RAID, especially built into real motherboards (consumer 1), usually uses a variety of hardware drivers other than RAID. No, Windows cannot go back to the hard drive.

The problem is that your current Windows is installed without a RAID driver. It is now needed to successfully boot from RAID / AHCI in BIOS. It is generally a good idea to completely reinstall Windows and enter the required drivers by pressing the F6 key while booting the initial installation. All manufacturers support this unique solution.
But there are ways to enable hardware RAID / AHCI without reinstalling Windows! The choice of ladders depends on your particular computer. They are definitely not for the faint of heart х … 🙂
If you create a parameter to configure some SATA types as RAID / AHCI and leave others to your own discretion, you should try the solution suggested by thegreyspot.
If you’re unlucky enough to have a dual mode option like mine, or if this solution doesn’t really work, you need to do something special to make this happen. I also bought a motherboard with an AMD SB850 RAID controller and had to do some solid research to understand the whole process and polish my own case. So, here are the step-by-step instructions I purchased, including the one I made myself:
- For Intel ICH8 / ICH8R / ICH9 / ICH9R controllers
- For AMD controllers:
