CWith the advent of solid state drives, computers are getting faster, but storage space is shrinking. SSDs are not designed to store large amounts of data. Therefore, it is a good idea to change the location of all system folders to a different location. In this lesson, I’ll show you how to actually move the system folders to an additional drive or somewhere else.
System Folder In File Explorer
To move system folders, you must first open the folder containing some system folders. To open the system folder type in File Explorer, follow these steps:
- Open the Windows Startup dialog (WINDOWS-R key).
- Enter in the edit field:% userprofile%
- Press ENTER.
The user profile folder will open with all types of system folders. System folders include:
- Documents
- Photos
- Video
- Music
Browse Folders
The display may look like a large icon, so use the ALL FOUR KEYS arrow to navigate between new folders. This can be easily changed in the current view.In the File Explorer ribbon view, list view, do the following:
- Open the View Menu Ribbon (ALT-V)
- Activate Layout Group (L)
- Use ALL FOUR ARROW KEYS to select a selection layout (I like List
- After selecting the desired page architecture, press ENTER.
In contrast, if programs are installed on C-Pendulum, you cannot move them from C-D or any other partition, as some programs may not work properly after moving from one disk to another. Finally, you can reinstall these programs on your computer by changing the installation location to drive D.
You will now often use the UP and DOWN ARROWS to navigate between folders.
Folder Options
The ability to move system folders is located in the properties of the folder. There are several ways to open folder properties. You can create properties from the Windows application menu or from the accelerator window.
Let’s take a look at each of them:
Open Properties Via Windows Application Menu
To open these folder properties from the Windows application menu:
- Focus on the folder containing the properties you want to display.
- Open the main Windows application menu with the WINDOWS APPLICATION KEY.
- Activate the “Properties” option at the bottom of the menu.
Opening Properties With Windows Accelerator
- Focus on the folder, yourWhich you want to view.
- Press ALT-ENTER.
Site Properties Page
Once you are active in the properties dialog of the component folder you want to move, successfully navigate to the “Location” property page. Navigate between apartment sheets using CTRL-TAB and CTRL-SHIFT-TAB.
If you are not sure which property page the cursor often focuses on, press TAB or SHIFT + TAB if the focus is not on the website’s properties tab. The “Properties” tab contains the name of the company from the properties window, usually you are targeted at you.
After you focus on the beds around the hotel, focus on the move button and activate it.
Move Folder
After activating the Move option, the Select Destination dialog box appears. This is now a dialog that will allow you to reselect each of our folder locations. Relevant fields in this dialog include:
- Folder – if you know the path to the young place, enter it in this recovery field and activate the buttonku “Select folder”.
- List. Press SHIFT-TAB once to access the entire list. You can use the Collections View to navigate to the new location and activate the Select Folder button.
After selecting a new location, the dialog closes and the focus returns to the property and asset overview. New path in the update field. Activate the OK button effect to make the change.
A dialog box will open asking if your company wants to move the folder from any current location to a new location. Answer yes and the folder will be moved to a new specific location.

My document file contained over 56 GB of data. It took me almost a day to complete all the documents. Be patient, let the hard drive do its job, and when you’re done, there will be a lot more space on your C drive!

To open folder properties from the Windows application menu:
- Focus on the folder whose properties you want to see.
- Open the Windows application menu withby the WINDOWS APPLICATION KEY.
- Activate the “Properties” option at the bottom of the menu.

- Focus on the folder you want to click with ALT-ENTER
View
When you have focused on most of the system folders you want to view in the properties dialog, go to the Location property page. Property sheets are accessed with CTRL-TAB and CTRL-SHIFT-TAB.
If you are not sure which property element the cursor is on, press the Tab key or SHIFT-TAB key until the focus is on the Home tab or Properties tab. In the Properties tab, the title of the property page will be whatever you’re focusing on.
You cannot move program files, nor can you move applications or possibly a program from the C drive, as they actually write Windows registry keys that they put into the operating system until they are released. “They can be removed. In fact, if it’s an SSD, they can get the most out of the higher speeds, regardless of files.
Once you’ve focused on the main resort property sheet, click and activate Johnson’s Move.
Step 1. Go directly to Start> Settings> System> Apps & Features, then you will see a list of programs. Step 2. Select an application and click Move Specified Application Only, then select the primary location on the other drive.
