How to checkRun current BIOS version in Windows
Your computer’s BIOS application will appear in the BIOS setup menu itself, but you do not need to restart your computer to check this version number. There should be several ways to view your type of BIOS in Windows and they will work, especially on a PC with a traditional BIOS or newer UEFI firmware.

How do I check my BIOS version Windows 10?
Enter CMD in the search box. Select Command Prompt or CMD.A command prompt window will open. Enter wmic bios, get smbiosbiosversion, then force it. The sequence of letters and numbers after SMBBIOSBIOSVersion corresponds to the BIOS version. Note the alternate BIOS number.
To check your BIOS version from the command line, click start, type cmd in the search box, then click the appropriate command line result – no need to be an administrator.
At the command prompt, run (or copy and paste) the following command and press Enter:
wmic bios smbiosbiosversion
You can find the BIOS or UEFI version number of your current PC.

You can also find the BIOS version number in the System Information window. In Windows 7, 8, or 10, press Windows + R, type “msinfo32” in the Run box and press the B keyWOD.
The BIOS serial number is displayed in the System area of the summary area. Look at the BIOS Version / Date field.
How to update BIOS
Different motherboards use different utilities and procedures, so there are no general instructions here. However, they will follow the same basic process that is available on all motherboards.

Please visit your motherboard manufacturer’s website first and secure the download or support page for that particular motherboard model. You should see a list of available BIOS versions along with any changes / bug fixes as of the date or date they were released. Download the version you want to update to. You probably want to use the most recent BIOS version – unless you need an older version.
If you purchased a specific pre-assembled computer and did not assemble it yourself, visit the computer manufacturer’s website, check your computer model, and go to the download page. Ta you will find available BIOS updates.
The BIOS you downloaded will most likely work in an archive – usually as a ZIP file. Extract the contents of this file. Inside you will find some kind of BIOS file – screenshot below, file E7887IMS.140.

You will need to choose from a variety of BIOS flashing tool levels depending on your motherboard and media. The preinstalled BIOS update README should recommend the best option for your hardware.
Some manufacturers offer an important BIOS flashing option right in their BIOS and even a dedicated keystroke option when booting the computer publicly. Typically, you copy the BIOS file to a USB stick, reboot the company computer, and startWe enter the BIOS through the screen or just the UEFI screen. From there, select each of our BIOS update options, select the BIOS file to be published to the USB stick, and of course update the BIOS to the new version.

Typically, you access the BIOS screen by pressing the appropriate key, even when your computer starts up. DOS based flash software is often part of the BIOS that someone downloads from the manufacturer’s website, but you may need to download it yourself. Find the file with the extension .baseball bat or .exe.
In recent years, boot floppies and CDs have been used for this. We recommend USB amplification because it is probably the simplest operation on modern hardware.
Several manufacturers offer Windows based recording tools that can be run from the Windows desktop to update the BIOS and then restart. We recommend not to use them, in conjunction with many manufacturers who offer tools of this type warn them not to use them. For example, MSI strongly recommends using the BIOS-based menu tactic instead of the Windows-based utility in the README file of the BIOS modification sample we downloaded.
Flashing the BIOS from Windows may cause othergreat problems. Much of the software running in the background, including security channels that can interfere with writing to this BIOS, can cause the process to crash and corrupt your BIOS. How do I check my BIOS utility?
