You should read these troubleshooting tips if you receive an error while troubleshooting your Postgresql installation.

    I just installed PC-Doctor From 5 from Lenovo/IBM website directly to my ThinkPad X24, WinXP.

    What is the default installation directory for PostgreSQL?

    How do I check if PostgreSQL installation has been successful?

    The installer creates a log file in the system’s temporary directory. This should save every possible data about that installation and is invaluable when troubleshooting. The log is called install-postgresql.log if the installation completed successfully.

    Our software jargon varies by region, but the software you download may be close to Chinese.

    Check your regional settings and make sure English is set to (United States). just to see what it would look like. However, if your software is locally in Chinese, please download the English version.

    My regional temp files are in English. There is an “EN” button on the taskbar, and everything else shows the menu in English.

    Why is Postgres not installing?

    Solution: uninstall PostgreSQL. Click: Control Panel -> User Accounts -> Configure Advanced User Profile Properties -> Remove any instances of “Unknown User” that appear to have remained from the PostgreSQL installation. Run the command: net rider postgres dbpass / add.

    Hello again!

    Ok, I downloaded and installed the file and installed it. Either way, it must be your locale. Although you can easily have EN on the taskbar, do the following and then launch PC-Doctor.

    1. Select Start
    2. Select Control Panel
    3. In Classic View, select Options or Regional and Language Options
    . If you’re in Category View, select “Date, Time, Regional and Language Options” and then “Select Regional and Language Options”
    4. Select the “Regional Options” tab
    5. In the “Default Formats” section, simply click the dropdown and select “English (United States)”. Controls the language settings of PC-Doctor.
    6. Now start PC Doctor. (You need to restart PC-Doctor to set the options, this won’t happen right away.) p>
