Malware Detection
To program the performance of each of these programs when detected And malware, we used results from two independent product testing labs: AV-TEST in Germany and AV-Comparatives in Austria.
These companies test snippets from about 20 major antivirus brands running on laptops or desktops with a tsunami of malware, and then determine how many files were intercepted and how many went undetected.
Almost every month, AV-Comparatives exposes PCs running Windows 10 64-bit to the latest malware from the web, just like the lab calls their “real world” tests to protect against the latest malware from the web.
AV-TEST uses two benchmarks: it attacks systems containing brand new zero-day” malware that has never been seen before (requiring advanced detection). actually, but also exposes computers to “widespread” spyware that has been detected and identified (which can be found by matching “signatures” of known malware) during the last four weeks. AV-TEST assessments are conducted every two months and use Windows 10 64-bit.
The lab-tested Bitdefender and Kaspersky add-ons we’re comparing here are far from accurate. Instead, it could be Bitdefender Internet Security and Kaspersky Internet Security “interim” packages, some of which offer more than their cheaper counterparts.
But given that each brand uses a malware detection “mechanism” for many of their Windows products, the maximum protection should be the same for all tools.
Is Bitdefender the Best Antivirus for Windows 10?
Bitdefender achieved four Windows 10 error-free detection scores conducted by AV-TEST in January and February 2021, with 100% error-free detection of zero-day programs and common adware. Kaspersky did the same. The only significant difference was that Bitdefender recorded one false positive – a harmless item mistakenly deployed as malware – while Kaspersky Lab did not know about it.
You see, the detection rates were the same in the last two rounds of the AV-TEST evaluation in November/December, September/October 2020: 100% detection rate in all areas.
Can I use Bitdefender and Kaspersky together?
The difference again is only in the false positive rate: Bitdefender made 12 improvements in November/December and 8 improvements in September/October. Kaspersky recorded only one in the original and zero in the second.
