I usually press the Windows key, type “Device Manager” without the quotes, and select Device Manager from the list that appears, and even press ENTER .
In the window that appears, click Display Adapter and the plus sign or arrow to the left of it. This should be the name of your graphics card.

1. Install Windows XP and boot from CD…
2. Press any key to start Windows (don’t worry… we’re not working with the installer at the moment)
3. If you see Repair a Windows XP installation using the Recovery Console, wait for Setup to run, and then press the R
4 key. At some point, wait until this screen appears, enter your main plant variety. (Usually 1 in p help C:Windows)
5. Press ENTER.
6. Enter the administrator password when prompted. If you don’t have one, leave the field blank and press Enter.
7. At the command prompt, type: chkdsk /r (note the few spaces between and chkdsk /r)
Remember that this can be done safely without interference.
8. Remove the disc and restart your computer.
