Change Policy
Does Norton AntiVirus still work after expiry?
If someone cancels your Norton 360 subscription, your computer software will stop updating almost forever. One of the reasons for this is to reassure customers that they are safe by investing in outdated software that is not as secure.
Outwardly, Norton will continue to work after the actual subscription has expired. The only difference is that youHowever, you cannot download and install virus definition updates, which means that many new viruses that are not in the Norton library may not be detected. However, any version of Norton Antivirus since 2007 will be completely disabled on the day your subscription expires if it does not provide any protection. The only way to solve this problem is to pay for the renewal.
Alternatives
If you can’t afford another year or just don’t want to pay for the whole antivirus, there are plenty of solid free alternatives. AVG Free, Avira Antivirus and Avast are some of these alternatives. They come with almost all paid programs and use constant updates. If you are concerned about the new quality of free programs, you should check the user reviews of each program. to see how they do. Keep in mind that significantly higher fees for available applications do not always mean more desirable quality.

I restored Norton Antivirus about 2 months ago. Works great since last weekend. Last weekend I tried to run Norton Live Update but it failed (error 1803). Other all programs, internet connection, e-mail. . .everything else might be fine.
I followed the online instructions (Symantec) and it’s mostly correct:
- The online AutoRepair template didn’t work.
- Tested (N2007 virus and online tool – negative)
- Trying to reinstall and after this error “Unable to install a Symantec product in the same folder”
- Using the Norton online uninstall tool to remove the remaining Norton files. Did NOT work.
- PrThey suggested running the online auto-recovery tool again. It says everything worked fine, but it didn’t help.
- There are 5 Norton *.dll files that won’t be removed.
- I’ve tried adding/removing programs.< /li >
- A real registry cleanup and a running program, maybe even a disk cleanup and defragmenter.
- Permanent build error “unable to install Symantec product to unmodified folder”
- Run the install again and select a brand new folder. FAILED”
- “Installation and it redirects me to the online removal tool.
- Go to path 5 and repeat procedure 6 for stormy nights
- Talked to help you with Norton Live Chat. My answer if you want all he said to me is “do it” and shut down!!! :robotmad:
