CoreAVC Overview
CoreAVC is the software codec for every video. The computer program is a codec for playing media files and decoding Blu-ray and DVD movies. This is a dedicated tool to support special media formats like H.264 which requires codec decoding when H.264 is used for streaming. This product makes maximum use of system resources to reproduce high quality tape solutions. It uses the system’s graphics card to handle video streaming and services the CUDA graphics cards that help that system’s processor perform decoding and rendering. The software can support multi-core, so each system will likely use all of its CPUs and GPUs. It also supports 8100 x 8100 resolution movies and Matroska MKV format. In addition, it is compatible with other NVIDIA platforms such as ION running Windows Vista, xp, or 7. In February 2009, CoreCodec released an update for CoreAVC that added Nvidia CUDA compatibility. CUDA supports many Nvidia graphics cards to help with video detection. Similar to CUDA, DXVA allows compatible ATI and NVIDIA graphics cards to support video decoding. Basically in early 2008, in response to user requests, CoreCodec was ported to a variety of processor architectures and platforms, to the point where it was only Windows. CoreAVC is compatible not only with 32-bit, but also with 64×86-bit, but it should work on PowerPC and ARM9, as well as in the role of ARM11 and MIPS.
