AuthorSubject: Playing M4a With Directshow Filters 2325 (playtime)
I am dealing with m4a files and not Quicktime because of the places I have to use for Directshow. What filters should I use?
Since you have not specified the codec in your m4a files, I can only recommend DC-BASS.
If you don’t have Lossless Apple, you can use FFDShow audio decoder for decoding and Haali Media Splitter as source filter.
Yes, I just don’t know the codec? I’m using ffdshow and haali, but maybe I’m missing something because it’s just noise.
Strange … worked on one of my computers, but didn’t work on the other. Installed, on similar computers everything is configured the same … have any ideas?
I’ve been browsing the internet for the last couple of days, and of course I’ve used the ImgBurn website as my primary source. Burned out in the past downloading M $ codec packs and worrying about those “packs”.

I get an error stating that I am missing a filter, although my own WMP12 (?) can play M4A directly, I wondered if at least some system media player can play the file directly

I tried to run ImgBurn as administrator, but I didn’t hope as ImgBurn works fine when writing CD / DVD / BD-R etc.
