Sometimes, your computer may display an error message that says that this kernel requires the following features. This error can be caused by a number of reasons.

I am creating this post trying to set it up on 12 ubuntu. As a guest in VirutalBox 4.1.18 on an Ubuntu 10.04 host.
This includes the following function in the kernel that is not processor bound: pae
- Main kernel:
Linux 2.6.32-41-generic-pae GNU / Linux
- lscpu (host):
Architecture: i686
,Processor mode (s): 32-bit, 64-bit
-
grep --color = always -i PAE / proc / cpuinfo
suggestspae
in its output.
For comparison / verification, I downloaded Linux Mint 13 Cinnamon and then installed it on the same host in the same old VM (I just changed the .iso image). It worked. Its ISO: linuxmint-13-cinnamon-dvd-32bit.iso
It seems (to me) that I have pae .. what’s going on here?
Update: I assumed Linux Mint needed pae (since it’s based on Ubuntu), but I just started it; grep --color = always -i PAE / proc / cpuinfo
in the Mint VM. He showed no way out. It looks like the problem is in VirtualBox. If so, how can I somehow put Virtualbox into pae mode?

Attempting to run a primarily Linux-based operating system on Oracle VM VirtualBox. Next error
This is displayed:
The kernel requires the following uses that the processor does not have: pae
Unable to Start – Use the kernel that best suits your processor.
Solution
- Shut down the virtual machine.
- Go to Settings> System> Processor – activate Activate PAE / NX.
Note. Cm. TracTickets as a user help Cards.
This Kernel Requires The Following Features That Are Not Available On The CPU: Pae …… Unable To Start, Please Use A Kernel Suitable For YourCPU.
I am trying to install Hadoop on my Windows XP “Hp Pavilion zt3000” which Pae has.
Then I set up the JomoLINux machine again,Memory, 353 MBand my virtual disk …. 12.5 GB
2) The car started up normally and I started it.
He said that he just doesn’t have a real operating system.
Then I set up a dedicated drive in VirtualBox, mapped the Ubunto ISO to that drive, and rebooted.
“This kernel requires the following functions, which are not available on the processor: pae …… Unable to start, please use a kernel suitable for your processor.”
5) Then I closed VirtualBox and clicked Settings -> System -> Processor. Functions and scopes _ Activate PAE / NX are inactive by default. This may mean that it was “off” and I could not turn it on.
6) I then figured out how to use the API to migrate to EAP
VboxManage Jomo-LInux Modifyvm – pae on
7) Then I went back to the Vertual Manage UI and PAE was marked “enabled”. However, there seems to be a slight flaw.bka – she was also inactive.
8) When I restarted my system, when VirtualBox restarted when it tried to buy Ubunto, I still had the same feelings. In fact, although PAE was displayed as “enabled,” it was clearly included.I believe this is similar to your software.

Physical Address Extension (PAE) is an important feature implemented in modern x86 processors. PAE expands the memory addressing functionality and allows more than 4 GB of random access memory (RAM). This increases the addressable energy storage by the system from d GB to 64 GB.
You need PAE when you are definitely virtualizing a 32-bit operating system and you need more than 4GB of memory. So, if your multimedia operating system is a 32-bit set (as is the case with a virtual operating systemby the Windows NT theme), but you have 16GB of RAM (which you want to use all the way), you need the PAE idea.
Activate PAE / NX Open the virtual machine settings. Click System, then System, and finally Processor. (VirtualBoxes Settings -> System -> Processor). Make sure the Advanced Features: Enable PAE / NX checkbox is checked.
