I am currently trying to restoreToshiba 1415-Set laptop using the included recovery CD in conjunction with the Apon download. I get the error “Wrong computer” – but this is our correct software. A quick google search is a common mistake, better known but unrelated … does some other technology know how to deal with this shit? |

This computer’s motherboard has probably been replaced at some point in the past, and whoever did it probably hasn’t updated the BIOS with the serial number and model type. Recovery CDs will be searched there to make sure they are working on the correct computer and every time they cannot find the text from Any string that works with the type of model you are looking for will make the game disappear. Will display no errors with bad hosting server error. You need to get the DMI tool and run it to set the correct value for the product. The problem is that Toshiba doesn’t make it available to the end user. |

I had exactly this problem with my custom Toshiba 2 days ago and Toshiba sent me instructions and a utility to reset the DMI chain to zero. When I have a habitat, I will give you information. |

Well, this is something to work with, so I’m actually an end user. I could send it to a service center, but in fact with the help of the tool I doubt people will fix it. OpenStep, if you had this information, it would automatically be great. Email me MP or leave the exact information in the thread. |

There are almost always several different dmi tools for different Tosnibas solution sets, so don’t pull your hair out if the one that openstep provides doesn’t work. |

The post was removed from the crappy forums on toshiba / compuserve, but they mostly stumbled upon the fact that I downloaded ftp://docmark.net/uuidw900.exe, ran it on a floppy disk from the beginning and started the laptop with it. … Then I saved the system name, model number and serial number that were on the sticker that you pasted on the bottom of the device, and they went to the system. They told me to just enter these 3 numbers and leave the rest as medicine. I used it before Satellite Pro M15 (Centrino), so it may or may not work on yours. Damn, is it possible to damage my system if Toshiba has special files for each satellite model? |

![]() wrong? No, I doubt it. The worst thing that can happen to me is that it still doesn’t look like what it prints. I see the correct information, but I need the full model name 1415, as well as the model part number at the bottom of the panel. |
