Explanation

DefaultWhenever a file is successfully backed up, this informational message is added to the SQL error server log and the system instance log. If you back up the transaction log very often, these messages can accumulate quickly and create very large error logs that can make it difficult to find other messages.

You can suppress these log records by using SQL Server trace flag 3226. Enabling this fact trace flag is useful if you tend to back up frequently and hardly any of your scripts rely on these records.

We have SQL 2008 R2 instances running on Windows servers (2008 R2 and 2012 R2). When my family and I take a regular snapshot that hibernates the guest filesystem, it logs messages to the Event Viewer that every database has been backed up. I expected this type of backup month Application / Database Locations; However, we usually only take a snapshot at the VMware level (example: before installing patches on the server we are taking, just take a snapshot)
