Find All OBD2 Codes
Look at almost the generic and manufacturer specific OBD2 error letters and their meanings in the most common car brands such as Acura, Audi, BMW, Chevrolet, Dodge, Chrysler, Jeep, Ford, Honda, Hyundai, Infiniti, Isuzu, Jaguar , KIA. , Land Rover, Lexus, Mazda, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Subaru, Toyota, with VW, etc.
What Is OBD2 Code?
OBD is usually an abbreviation for on-board diagnostics. This helps the vehicle’s electronic system to self-diagnose and generate reports. Whenever a problem occurs, the system records it as pretty code. This code is known as a Perfect Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC). As a car owner or mechanic, you can extract and interpret the code to understand the nature of the problem. Regardless of whether the car issues you the law P0201, for example, this means that there is a malfunction in cylinder 1 of the injection circuitska. Your job is to find the problem and fix it.
In this sense, OBDII codes are fault codes specific to OBD2 vehicles. These are cars, usually SUVs, light trucks, etc. Manufactured / sold, offered in the USA in 1996. In other words, if the car or SUV is 1996 or newer, it is OBD2 compliant. And that also means that experts say it uses OBD-II codes to perform self-diagnostics and reports. I’ll use a few interchangeable ones throughout this article to avoid confusion. For
How To Read OBD2 Codes
OBD offers monitoring of various systems. You will need an engine control module, body, frame, etc. If you look at the OBD2 code, you can immediately determine the cause of the malfunction by reading the letters, but there are numbers. Below is the final breakdown.
First Letter (letter)
All OBDII codes start with a letter denoting the faulty part of each of our vehicles. Let’s see, okay?
P – power unit. It includes the engine, gearbox and all related accessories Souars.
U – transport network and integration. This means that the functions of the on-board computer systems are processed and separated.
B – building. These are the parts that are mostly found inside the cabin.
C – chassis. It includes mechanical systems and functions such as guidance, suspension and braking.
Character (number)

Fortect is the world's most popular and effective PC repair tool. It is trusted by millions of people to keep their systems running fast, smooth, and error-free. With its simple user interface and powerful scanning engine, Fortect quickly finds and fixes a broad range of Windows problems - from system instability and security issues to memory management and performance bottlenecks.

The first letter is usually followed by the amount. This information can only be “0”, “1” or “2”, “3”.
0 – if it is “0”, “2” or “3”, this is a regular code (SAE); also known as big code
1 – If it is “1”, look at the vendor code
Third Character (number / Letter)
This number indicates in which system of the vehicle the error occurred. There are eight tactics in total:
Fourth And Fifth Characters (number)
The last bit of the trouble code is that you just have a two-digit number. This number identifies the specific problem you are experiencing. It can be any number between 0 and ninety-nine.
As you can see, a typical DTC is only five characters long, and each character is a list. For example, if you receivedP0219 message, it means the vehicle is in overspeed condition.
The letter “P” means the problem is again with the transmission. “0” means that this is a general discount code, and “2” for the fuel and air metering system (injection circuit). The last two digits (19) identify the problem as an overspeed condition.
Want to know more about codes and their meanings? Below is a more complete list of OBD codes. As mentioned, DTCs starting with the letter “P” are for the transmission. Those who start the process with the letter “U” are in favor of the network in addition to the integration of this vehicle system. The letter “B” stands for the car body and the letter “C” stands for the chassis.

OBD2 Codes
Below are details of the most popular OBDII promo codes, as well as their meaning, causes and troubleshooting steps.
P0010 Intake / Open Camshaft Drive Circuit (Bank 1)
Code P0010 occurs when block 1 camshafts and crankshafts have a kinetic point of change. The problem occurs when the engine is running at high rpm. The ECM is not adjusting the valve correctly at a high lift rate.
Main symptoms:
- The check engine light comes on.
- The engine does not work well at high revs.
- The car is running all the time.
- This is less favorable to the economy
- The vehicle has not passed the emission test
Possible reasons:
- Dirt in engine oil.
- Defective (ovc oil control valve)
- Interior may damage the ECM.
- The timing for ECM is related to the wrong timing
- Damaged wiring.
- Malfunction of the crank or distributor sensorCasing shaft.
- VCT chain / Rare VVT or open circuit
Diagnostic steps:
- Use an advanced diagnostic tool that will extract engine codes.
- Check VVT / VCT magnet model for contaminated oil.
- Check the chain for chain problems
P0011 Intake Camshaft Position Adjustment – Premature (Bank 1)
Code P0011 is set when the valve timing for bank 1 was above the limit set by the ECM. This situation results in a premature condition that occurs either during the lead or during that particular camshaft drive.
Main symptoms:
- Check Engine Light is available when
- Difficulty starting
- Poor idle
- Vehicle may be rough or stall.
- Low fuel consumption.
- The vehicle cannot pass the test.
Possible reasons:
- The camshaft stays in front even if the ECM commands the brake to decelerate again.
- CoBlock 1 oil control lenoid is probably clogged or stuck
- The oil may be thick and therefore the passages are blocked by bank 1
- VCT / VVT wiring problems
- In general, oil flows continuously from the open piston chambers of the VCT.
Diagnostic steps:
- Make sure the engine oil is clean and of the recommended viscosity.
- Without a doubt, visually check the wiring in the variator system.
- Engine Codes and Operational Recommendations with Advanced Get Diagnostic Tool
P0012 Intake Camshaft Position Change Time – Too Late (Bank 1)
Code P0012 is triggered when bank 1 ends with a time lag that occurs either during a delayed advance or.
Main symptoms:
- Check engine light comes on.
- Difficult starting
- Low fuel consumption
- The car may become nervous or stall.
- The vehicle cannot pass the engine performance test.
Possible reasons:
- Incorrect camshaft timing
- P wiring problems during VCT / VVT
- Oil constantly flows into the VCT auxiliary chamber.
- The solenoid control valve control has
Blown fuse If you are plugged into this car’s diagnostic connector and don’t read most of the information, you might think your OBD-II neurodeployed, but don’t declare the concept dead just yet. getting OBD code, it is simply the best fuse. Check fuses for faults.
Take your scanner and connect your interface cable or device to your car’s OBD2 port.Turn the key to the ON position.Press the READ button on the scan tool.Press the ERASE button on the scanner to erase the beat code.
EOBD (European On-Board Diagnostics) is a system that warns the driver and occupants of a vehicle of a malfunction that could result in higher emissions than permitted by the European directive *. Typically, it can back up error agreements and capture data * during customs clearance.
