If you notice 16989 – Internal Control Module ROM Error, this user manual may help you. This problem can be caused by simply removing the cart before disconnecting it. If you also clear the codes and just turn off the car while it is talking to the ECU, it will indeed appear. Delete it and you should be fine.
16989 / P0605 / 0015 / h.41>
Possible Symptoms
- Malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) is on
Possible causes
- Defective control module
- Internal error in control module / processor
Possible solutions
- Check / replace control module
Special notes
- Error codes like these are usually not corrected because they were logged after the control module was far from passing the internal self-test. Although the official repair manuals suggest replacing your current control module in such a department, specialized companies can repair the modules that do this.
The local repair shop is not sure if the reason compares to the suggestion to contact the local dealership, but most people deleted the code to see if it was returned (which was not) and the Audi dealer said no. there is no guarantee to him that they will find anything and will wait for his return. It will only end if it starts on a very arctic morning (i.e. twice in the last few months) and is otherwise smooth. Should I be worried about the upcoming big bill?
I researched the code and practically the information seems vague at best, some suggest that the control box should replace some people who may have nothing to do with control, but the module is supported by something else / p>

– Special Notes
DTCs like these are usually impossible to fix because they are set after the control module has failed an internal self-test. Although the official repair manuals suggest replacing the control module in such a case, sophisticated companies can repair such modules.
However, from what I was able to find, it turned out that the control module is faulty and needs to be replaced. However, do you really have a problem with your car?
I looked at Ross Tech’s code which didn’t give much information, you obviously found the same thing.

This only happens when it can be very cold – 5 or less. I know Vince from Stealth because he’s only an hour away and he sketched that this only happens in very cold conditions. The battery has been greatly improved in 4 months of work in the workshop (previous owner), but the battery needed for the big A2 proved to be surprisingly powerful
For 1.4 everyone has a lot of juice! He told me that if it doesn’t happen every time, and if the only risk is cold, the control module is fine, but still annoyed if the power gets too low at startup! I’m going to take a look at whatever was installed along the way and replace it with a £ 80 control module, not a £ 600 control module!
To be honest, the car drives like a dream, after thatIt can’t be too bad, idle, or performance problems due to poor control. He suggested that someone may have performed a lower reassignment, but potentially it could continue all the time in cases where it was. In any case, if it goes up, it will go up along with the ramps.
