Sometimes your system will return an error indicating that an unknown error occurred while checking the DNS server. This error can be caused by a number of reasons.
Hello Hello_SGH,
As per your description, there is an unknown error when adding a DNS forwarder, but if a person adds the same IP address to multiple servers, it works fine.
We can do an amazing capture of network traffic on a server thatth is currently having problems and is good on the server side, compare the packets you bring with you with the DNS forwarder. Usually, when your whole family adds a forwarder, the server requests a PTR record and then sends a SOA request to remote server. When the real remote server receives a packet, it usually returns a “success” packet. We can see if the server that is experiencing the problem can receive “Response Succeeded” directly from the remote DNS server package.
In addition, the result of the check does not affect the functionality of the transfer. When the DNS server forwards a request to each of our remote servers, it points to someone’s IP address on the remote server.
If you want to download Network Monitor to generate network traffic, you can click all of the following links:

From your description, the moment you add a DNS forwarder there is a strange error, but if you add an IP address on a different server, it still works fine.
We can view the network traffic on the server that has the problem and is working fine on the server, compare the fields when adding a DNS forwarder. Usually when you buy a forwarder, the server asks for a PTR record and then sends an SOA request to usually a remote server. If the remote server can receive the packet, it will resend the “success” packet. We can check if the webserver causing the problem was able to receive a “Reply Successful” packet from the entire remote DNS server.
In addition, the result of the agreement does not affect the transfer function. When a server, the dynamic naming service, forwards the request to a remote server, the dynamic naming servicenames, it refers to the IP address of the remote server.
