More often than not, I configure AV on some servers only as one of the domain controllers, but not on all, let alone a file server, but not on other companies that are sufficiently locked down and updated. I also post server updates to keep your engines, definitions and programs less vulnerable than workstations.

I have installed AV on all servers except Hyper-V hosts. Do I need ABSOLUT AV on your file servers and on any system that operators (remote desktop event hosts) can connect to, on all web servers that allow you to download text content?
Antivirus is only required in “dumb” clients that have run / administrator rights on computers. So if your server administrator is stupid, you need an antivirus. If you come up with a REAL server admin, my husband will never run a file on a specific server that is not from a trusted source ika.
