Today I want to talk about a physical error my friend recently encountered and how he got his BlackBerry® smartphone working without delay! This error occurs whenever your BlackBerry smartphone displays a solid screen with the message “JVM 523” highlighted. This error may also appear as “Error 523” or “Application Error 523” depending on the type of BlackBerry smartphone you are using.
Here’s a look at how important this error is for basic facts and, more importantly, what to do if you encounter it.
The first program you may ask actually means “JVM 523”. In simple terms, this means that your BlackBerry smartphone is experiencing a Java ™ virtual machine (JVM) problem and often freezes. As mentioned earlier, when this error occurs, the BlackBerry phone displays a solid white screen in a small message that says “JVM 523” at the top screen.
If you encounter this error, the first thing to do is be sure to reset your BlackBerry smartphone. One of the following options may be used depending on what happens after the reset.

4. If the application loader is not installed on your computer, do the following:
- In the standard file dialog box, click the Load – Security Warning button.
- In the Internet Explorer Security dialog box, click Run.
- Change your computer when prompted.
- Access some of the updates on your computer from the BlackBerry Device Software website.
- If you have a password for your BlackBerry mobile phone, enter it in the Unlock BlackBerry Dialog Device field.
6. Click OK.
7. At the momentYou have two options. Also, if a newer version of the BlackBerry Device Software is available, click Get an update. If the latest version is not available, reinstall most of the BlackBerry Device Software shown. To do this, click “Show other versions” and select “Current version” and then click “Install”.
If the error persists, a message appears, or the BlackBerry smartphone is already running, I would argue that the latest version of the BlackBerry Device Software and re-downloading the device software did not fix the problem, so further investigation may be needed.

- Is a specific application function being used when a problem occurs?
