What Does HTTP Error 404.3 Indicate?
If the server has always failed to serve the World Wide Web page requested by the browser, it will display errors as exception codes for HTTP status. One of these HTTP errors – error 404.3 – not found.
This is a 404 style that indicates that the requested page cannot be found for some reason. The house also displays the 404.3 status subcode. This indicates a MIME limitation. Content errors make this clear. Typical error information is displayed as follows:
This error occurs It is in the theme of the Windows hosted website and each of our IIS web servers. Basically, this error can easily occur. If the requested page consists of scripts, then there is no corresponding handler. Or, if images or videos are not supposed to load, the corresponding MIME type should not be available. This error can also occur if the ASP.NET feature is not only enabled.
Fixed HTTP Error 404.3
As the issue described in the code, the reason for working with this error is the lack of scripting handlers with ASP.NET and features, also due to inappropriate MIME mapping. Let’s see how the IIS experts fix this error that our clients are experiencing.
Install ASP.NET Feature
The ASP.NET component needs and wants to be installed on the server because the .NET files are loaded. If the feature is simply not enabled, we will get HTTP error 4044.3. We are discussing how our specialists will activate this feature.
- Click Start >> Administrative Tools >> Server Manager.
- In Server Manager, click Add Roles with Roles.
- Then click Roles… Expand all .NET Framework.
- Now select the required .NET Framework for ASP. After you select ASP.NET ISAPI Option Filters, ISAPI Extensions, .NET Option Extensibility are automatically selected.
- We execute the whole command according to the Windows architecture.
- For 32-bit Windows (x86):
- For (x64) 64-bit Windows
Finally, we verify that the accumulation of domain applications is using the installed platform.
Added New Script Engine
Most websites work with scripting languages like php, .NET and for this reason. Hence, the entire appropriate script manager must be installed on the web server in order to display the required page in the browser. If this approach is missing, a huge 404.3 error usually appears on show sites.
- First, we open the Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager.
- Now we select the mapping manager in Home >> Server components.
- In real time, in the action area, we click on the Module lend Mapping.
- Now a dialog box opens, in this case we need to Add:
- Path:
- Request * .php
- Module: FastCgiModule
- Executable file: after “c: [PHP installation path] php-cgi.exe”
- Name: via FastCGI
PHP
Finally, we click OK and confirm the dialog that appears.
To ensure this works, our support engineers will check the PHP results page that contains the FastCGI data module.
Select MIME Type
The Multipurpose Internet Mail Extensions Type MIME alias identifies the input content provided to the browser.
Choosing the MIME type on localhost is also important. By default, the IIS server has MIME types set for the shared file content. .Mixes .html. For .text files, .jpeg for graphics, etc. But for completely new or newest file content, we need to add it to the list of MIME types. To add it to an IIS server, someone’s support team does the following.
- First, open the We Information Services (IIS) Internet Manager.
- Now, in the Connections area, we select the site / application / directory that the newbie needs with a MIME type.
- Then
- MIME types.
- Then select Add Selection and add the desired MIME types.
- Finally, we all restart IIS.
double-click the MIME types in the welcome window.
