Today I spoke with my colleagues Mikko Nykri and Gurvinder about some of the existing tools. In preparation for this type of blog, I’ve also included several of the Backup Exec Community Forums on VOX to get a shared view of the most common tools that Backup Exec administrators use today. As expected, the usual suspects come out on top (by BEMCLI, e.g. testing tool and b2d etc.). However, I was struck by the number of tools mentioned that I had never heard of. indeed
I want to share all the great tools I learned in this exercise. But for those ideas, let’s start with the top 10. Remember that these are just the 10 most popular tools, and there are dozens of other types of tools that you can use a lot. more often than the top 10 >
1. Backup Exec Command Line Management (BEMCLI)
Can you delete Backup Exec Catalog files?
By default, Backup Exec does not delete or truncate directories. If these backups of old TV catalog files take up too much space, you can change this setting.
Where are the Backup Exec catalogs maintained?
Where are my Backup Exec directories stored? They are always stored on BKF, IMG, OST (media based directory) tapes and are themselves stored in a directory location in the registry. If the catalog files are not available in the catalog location, BE cannot display the backup sets in the console.
The Backup Exec interface works with a powershell module called BEMCLI. One of the changes we made a few years ago was the transition from a more mature command line interface (BEMCMD) to BEMCLI. BEMCLI is based on Powershell, which is a more powerful scripting language than the DOS command language. Needless to say, you need to be familiar with Powershell to take full advantage of Bemcli.
BEMCLI is also a valuable tool for automating multiple management tasks, including a single cloud instance owned by configuration, of your own S3-compatible cloud implementation with Exec backup.
To start BEMCLI on a computer where Backup Exec is installed, you can either go to the taskbar or click Start > All Programs > Veritas Backup Exec > Backup Exec Management Command Line Interface
2. Veritas Quick Veritas Assist (vqa)
Assist quick (VQA) is a robust diagnostic tool that helps you identify problems automatically (self-help). It also contains troubleshooting information forSupported by Veritas Technical Support. It also contains useful links and information about support resources. You can get them at https://www.veritas.com/content/support/en_US/vqa
3. Veritas Backup Exec Migration Assistant From (bema)
The Veritas Backup Exec Migration Assistant allows you to migrate data from one Backup (source) exec server to another Backup Exec (target) server. you must run the migration wizard on the target server.
In general, there are several ways to back up executable files to the server: either manually, which can be quite tedious, almost, or instantly using the BEMA utility. The BEMA value is by far the easiest method if you want to migrate your Exec backup software to new hardware, and apparently Veritas recommends it, so you shouldn’t have any problems selecting the item option.
Please read the following technical note for more information BEMA notices: https://www.veritas.com/support/en_US/article.100041264.BEMA is available from the download center (veritas veritas.com/support).

CCO requires absolutely no separate installation. Can they be a CCO for every cloud storage configured in Exec backup like in this particular image above. Possibly
Due to service conditions fluctuating at different times during the ceremony, Veritas recommends running the CCO task as close to the backup window as possible for the best possible results.talented
Our baseball team engineers devote all reasonable time and effort. to qualify Backup With exec as many different devices, disk cloud targets, other things and tasks.
However, due to the large quantity, it is impossible to test all for compatibility.
If you’ve invested in a real disk device that isn’t exactly listed as supported by Veritas, it will work without a hitch! and It’s just that Veritas didn’t explicitly test with Exec backup.
