You really need to figure out what codec they usually use (remember AVI is just a good container) and make sure you install it CORRECTLY. Here is a list of codec IDs, I usually use AVIcodec myself. Or you can just install Xvid as it is probably in file format anyway .. – Check it out here: impact http: / / Episteme .arstechnica.com / groupee_common / emoticons / icon_razz … gif – |

Have you tried using VLC as a player? I think almost anything can play in the sun. |

Download gspot. It should tell you which AVI files the codec needs. Also .just. File, isn’t it? |

For some reason, “Perforated Colon” voice modulation comes to mind when I read the OP’s title. |

All you have to do is find out Which codec is being used (remember that AVI is that container) and make sure you know exactly which one is CORRECTLY installed. Here is a list of additional codec IDs, I myself prefer using AVIcodec.
Or you can just download the Xvid as the most likely format is our file anyway .. – View it here: persona http://episteme.arstechnica.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_razz.gif –

Download GSpot. It should tell each codec what AVI files need.
Also to make sure you are opening the .AVI file and not the .avi.torrent file, right?
