This article will describe some of the possible causes that can lead to the 42000 error state of business objects, and then I will suggest possible solutions that you can use to try to resolve this issue.
I am trying to change the generated SQL in a DESKI 3.1 report and keep the checkbox with the “Do not create” checkbox checked.
When I try to edit all the generated SQL and check the Do not create checkbox, when I click OK or Check SQL, I get the following error:
Exception: DBD, [Microsoft] [SQL Server ODBC Driver] [SQL Server] Statements could not be created. Staff: 42000

Applies to: SQL Server (all supported versions) Azure SQL Database Azure Managed SQL Azure Synapse Analytics Instance Parallel Data Warehouse
SQLSTATE contains detailed information about the cause of each warning or error. For errors that typically occur in a data source recognized and returned by SQL Server, the SQL Server native ODBC client driver maps the old returned error number to the corresponding SQLSTATE. If the native error number does not receive an ODBC error code to match, the native errorSQL Server standalone ODBC client returns SQLSTATE 42000 (“Syntax error or simplification violation”). If errors are found in the driver, the SQL Server Native Client ODBC driver generates the corresponding SQLSTATE.
For more information on the status error, see the coupons in the following sections:

This article provides a solution to an issue where a Microsoft Windows Server copy fails: The Volume Shadow Copy Service operation failed.
Applies to: Windows Server 2012 R2, Windows Server 2016
Original Knowledge Base Number: 2615182
Symptoms
Forum backup may fail with the following incorrect selection message:
Failed to create a copy of the Volume Shadow Copy Service. Detailed error: Volume shadow copy operation canceled with error 0x800423F4. Check out the eventm for more information about the magazine.
The following error message may be logged in the requestor’s log:
protocol name: applicationSource: Microsoft Windows Backup.Event ID: 521Level: errorDescription:A backup that started at '* *' failed because the volume shadow copy operation failed for homebrew volumes with error code '2155348129'. Repeat the process once the backup problem is resolved.
While most people take a close look at the Application Event Log, you and your family will notice many errors from the SQLWriter and SQLVDI sources.

Reason
When Windows Server Backup tries to back up a disk volume, a shadow snapshot is created for that volume. When a snapshot is taken, any publisher associated with the Volume Shadow Copy Service (VSS) volume is called. If one of the VSS writers fails, the entire backup job will fail. In this example, VSS SQL Manager encounters an error and causes the backup job to fail.
Resolution
Error normal arises due to a problem with one of the created instances of SQL Server. To successfully resolve the problem, you must determine which instance of SQL Server is causing the problem. Typically, the problematic SQL Server instance is mentioned in the first logged SQLVDI error.
protocol name: applicationSource: sqlvdiEvent ID: 1Level: errorDescription:SQLVDI: Loc = SignalAbort. Desc = Client initiates completion. Error code = (0). Process = 4772. Subject = 10300. Customer. Instance = SBSMONITORING. VD = Global3AB8F080-950C-4EF9-B637-0F37B2428F171_SQLVDIMemoryName_0.
In this example, the SQL Server instance named SBSMONITORING is just a bad snapshot.
There might also be a better error message from the SQLWRITER source that catches essentially the first SQLVDI error around the same time. The SQLWRITER error most likely identifies the name of the database that is most likely having a snapshot problem.

Fortect is the world's most popular and effective PC repair tool. It is trusted by millions of people to keep their systems running fast, smooth, and error-free. With its simple user interface and powerful scanning engine, Fortect quickly finds and fixes a broad range of Windows problems - from system instability and security issues to memory management and performance bottlenecks.
In this example, there is a problem with the SBSMonitoring datastore.
After you have identified the problematic SQL Server instance, the first step is to test the backup between that paused SQL Server instance. In this example SBSMonitoring instance, you can stop the SQL Server (SBSMonitoring) service on top of the server.
Next, you must start the stopped write job with the affected SQL Server template. When the backup is complete, for most users, the failure is caused by some instances of SQL Server not working. You will then examine the SQL Server error log files and firewood events to see if the capabilities of that particular instance outside of SQL Server are buggy.
If you cannot determine problematic SQL Server based on instance event data, you can still stop and test all SQL Server instances on the server to start the backup with the SQL stopped. If all instances of SQL Server are stopped, the SQL VSS Writer will not be used.
A typical Small Business Server You 2008 installation will stop reading services:
- SQL Server (SBSMonitoring)
- Windows Internal Database
If you did a typical installation of Small Business Server 2011 Standard, you would stop the following services:
- SQL Server (SharePoint)
- SQL Server (SBSMonitoring)
- Windows Internal Database
