    • This error occurs when using Xvid or Divx codecs to compress video with Camtasia Recorder in versions 2019 and earlier. To make changes, follow these steps:

    Xvid

    1. Open Camtasia Recorder.
    2. Select Tools >> General Alternatives.
    3. Select .avi to display the dropdown menu in the dataset.
    4. Click Settings> Video Settings.
    5. Select Xvid MPEG-4 codec.
    6. Click Configure.
    7. Click Advanced Options.
    8. Uncheck Show Encoding Location and click OK.

    Divx

    1. Open Camtasia Recorder.
    2. Select Tools >> General Options.
    3. Select .avi from the Save to drop-down menu.
    4. Click Settings> Video Settings.
    5. Select DivX 6.8.5 codec (4 logical processors).
    6. Click Configure.
    7. Select a 1080HD profile from the Certification Profile drop-down menu.

    This has to do with recording usingBy choosing a codec other than TSCC and choosing a size that is definitely not a multiple of 4. To work around this issue, open Camtasia Recorder, choose Tools> Options> Program, then select Force Region to Multiple (improves quality).
