If you see that on your computer you cannot use the arrow keys to select Safe Mode error messages, check out these recovery ideas.

When you see the message “Please select an operating system at startup”, press F8. In the Windows Advanced Options menu, use the arrow keys, select Safe Mode, and then press Enter. If you have a dual-boot and sometimes multiple-boot computer, select the appropriate operating system from the list and press Enter.

In an attempt to enjoy a new video game, the monitor resolution was set too high, and now we get a large black screen with the message “The monitor cannot display this mode.” Online research shows that I should try restarting Windows in Safe Mode, but when I try, most of the arrow keys on my keyboard don’t work and I’m forced to accept most of the default Normal Mode (the one on Return to Sanding) solution given above problem). Actually I have tried two different keyboards which I usually understand have arrow function keys, but these products stop working when Installing on a specific type of PC (obviously I’m not on a PC right now)
I tried to change the monitor, but the same resolution issues occurred. I also tried to manually adjust the device on both monitors, but was unable to adjust the resolution that way.
I’m going to ask someone to tell me how to get the arrow keys to work when my computer starts up. Or something else that might help?

Take a close look at the BIOS menu and see if there is an option with a meaningful name like USB Legacy Mode for the keyboard, usually make sure it is enabled.# 5

If you have a second Windows 7 computer and the steps above do not help, create a system repair disc and perform a system restore dated shortly before the change.

Today I went to a friend and he made me install new RAM on his computer. Okay – no problem – installed fine, but the system also recognized the new 512MB for a total of 768MB. His computer is from WinXP 2. GHz. Well, while it started so well, it started out great, and several programs have been completed.
But then we moved on to Norton’s System Works. Win Doc has encountered several errors, nothing serious. Everything is always OK. Norton’s Disk Doctor didn’t start reading unless it was supposed to start right after launch, so it did. The typical checkbox was “Fix errors automatically.” After the scan, Norton told us to restart our computer. Now the problem arose … instead of starting WinXP stays in the DOS area and reboots. So I pressed F8 to get the Safe Mode feature, but the keyboard arrows (top to bottom right) are not fully occupied, so we cannot select Safe Mode. I thought it was a faulty keyatura PC, but it works fine on my PC.
In some cases, we pressed the reset button as well as the on / off button, although nothing.
If it doesn’t boot normally or correctly, your only option is to erase the XP CD and install
It is better to repair than to repair the installation, just remember to replace the mbr.
Are you saying to whom you can get into the boot meal but not choose safe mode because those arrow keys on your keyboard are completely unresponsive, or am I mistaken with the end of a pen in your message? Is it a USB keyboard or even a PS2?
Are you saying that you can go back to the Start menu but cannot choose Safe Mode because the arrow keys in the keyboard theme are not responding or are suffering from some of the bad results of your contribution? Is it a USB or PS2 keyboard?
Yes, Jen, decide. Unable to select Safe Mode because the arrow keys on the computer keys do not work. PS2.
I’ll go home this morning from a friend and report here …
I am also wondering if F8 is the correct keynecks to press when the computer first boots up. F10 instead? I do not remember.
If it doesn’t boot normally or safely, all you can do is fire up the XP CD and perform a repair install
Instead of doing a repair install, just try replacing mbr. Have you tried any of these ideas? Your best bet if it starts up first, if you need Windows, is to reboot a few times to make sure the fix isn’t temporary.
