After considering the many possible causes of error 20, I almost gave up.I ran a damaged 7D with water. I tried to at least redo it after driving away the very variegated visible corrosion spots. Including the corrosion of the sexy shoe and its microswitch.
While the Canon EOS 7D Mark II body is actually just about to be discontinued, it should be replaced by the Canon EOS 7D Mark II with W-E1 Wi-Fi adapter, the features of which cannot be swapped as an option for purchasing the EOS 7D Body. Mark II. …
As soon as I turned it on for the first time, I ran it through my SPT software system, which reported error 220, described as “unusual shutter charging signal after medical charging”, which was either electrical or mechanical, as indicated It indicates a malfunction of the shutter, possibly a mirror. I was unable to get the buttons on the back to respond back then, so I tested for corrosion by removing our own contacts on the back, decrypting and cleaning them underneath. It’s true that I got my first error message 20. After removing the batteries and leaving the body on for a while, I was able to get the reset buttons to react again. In fact, I would probably get to the middle of the setup menu before error 20.

When turning on and pressing all the triggers, this is when the electric motor of our own roller shutter is jammed. In desperation, I simply removed the throttle motor and replaced it with a replacement that I had from the only 5D MkII. Once, when I inserted a new and just charged regular main battery, I went as far as to fully customize the start menu, but also took 4 shots despite the flash being on, before returning to the dreaded error 21. This made me to ponder: although the fact that error 20 came from this problem with a mechanical shutter or mirrormay easily not be the case in this case.
Remove and reinsert the battery.Remove and format the phone SD card.clean sensor, mirror on hand from the menu.Remove the lens and reinsert it.try several modes.
Anyway, in the meantime, I purchased a working 7D with minor sensor errors, but fully functional. Again in utter desperation (hate prep work, work committee) I thought I was going to replace all the motherboards and voila, error 31 was completely gone. Instead, error 20 is passed so that the new 7D can be turned on! I would have thought that trying to replace the motherboard would be as good as the DC / DC board and floor as (expensive) trial and error. But since I already have a board this is installed for me, at least try it. I have now installed a replacement board at the post office and hopefully I end up with two fully usable 7Ds.
Is Canon 7D still relevant?
Although it should be ten years old, the standard 7D is still widely used by many photographers. Its Achilles’ heel compared to more modern DSLRs lies in its sonic performance at high ISOs.
I’m still trying to figure out where his motherboard came from. I suspect that each of our FPCs on the side of the mirror has this corroded socket on the main panel, which is difficult for me to see with simple magnification or with the naked eye. At this point it was worn out, but I tried very hard to clean it thoroughly. Who knows
