If you are trying to recover data from an inaccessible or corrupted startup, you can try using CHKDSK to repair a FAT32 file system. CHKDSK will most likely be a command on Windows that checks the file system for errors. Open a command prompt by typing cmd in the search bar and pressing Enter.
I have an SD card account that has apparently stopped working for several years. I recently tried to recover some data including this data and was able to recover very few of it (I used Gparted). Most of the data was lost and maybe I could not access the directories or the files were corrupted (~ I / O error : could not read from pipe
or just unreadable files of strange size).
Our question is not about recovery; This is FAT32 itself – are there ways in which damage to a small part of the file system, such as some metadata, can infect most of the files it contains? For example arrays that map file / directory pointers to actual data on disk?

I’m thinking about it because I’m using an SD card now and it works great (after creating a new partition map, shredding it, let alone creating a new partition).

Something similar happened last week – mt. disk and every directory can be accessed and suddenly the device is really write protected.Run fsck -n on disk, a message will appear“FAT files are different, but they look especially intact. Using first And fat ”then lists a number of errors, including file-level incompatibilities and cluster errors.Executing fsck -y as statedeno solves the problem but does less than that. I found that fsck creates dosfsck on Fat32.Run dosfsck –help and one of the options was “-r fix this system interactively”.Run dosfsck -r / dev / sdd1 – also the first thing asked should be an extension. to beUse the first or second FAT.With the second FAT, the system has been successfully repaired.

Speed up your computer's performance now with this simple download.
There are several restrictions on using the best FAT32 file system: FAT32 subOnly holds documents up to 4 GB in size in addition to sizes up to 2 TB. FAT32 is not a journaling filesystem, which means it is easier to corrupt. FAT32 does not support file permissions.
There are serious drawbacks to using FAT32 on your destination drives: FAT32 can only handle electronic files that are less than 4GB in size. FAT32 only works with partitions with a maximum capacity of 8 TB. Configuring the drive as FAT32 does not protect data in the event of a power failure.
Formatting a drive less than 32 GB on Windows. Save everything to the drive you want to save. If your drive is less than 32GB, you can format your files to FAT32 or ExFAT using the excellent built-in Windows utility. This will erase parts of the disc. So make sure someone backs up any data you want to keep.
