Over the past few days, some of our users have reported that they have stumbled upon a Dell Inspiron 1420 recovery disc.
I don’t know if you have the right to do this, but unfortunately you can here .
To work with drivers: click “Drivers and downloadSubmissions ”in the Support column at the bottom of this page.
Just select your model in the Laptop / Notebook / Inspiron field and you will be redirected to the corresponding pilot page: Emotion-5:
Note. Make sure you are installing the drivers in the correct order: ‘ How to install drivers ‘.
I don’t want to know why Media Direct is not mentioned in connection with this page, because Media Direct needs to be installed even before installing most of the operating system !?
It is recommended to copy all drivers. and SP1 to a USB stick or external hard drive, or burn them to another CD / DVD before reformatting the drive / installing any operating systems.
You don’t have to look for truck drivers to get started while you wait for the copied discs to arrive.
The information about the specific utilities and driver discs you receive is for the vehicle owners that were available when the laptop was first introduced.
This wayWell … while they may be more useful for getting started early, they are clearly outdated and should be added later.

If your system is running Windows XP and the recovery partition is not damaged, try the following steps to recover System factory settings:
At startup (before the Dell logo disappears from the screen), hold down the Ctrl key and hold down the F11 key (while holding down the Ctrl key), then select “Restore” and follow the basic instructions on the screen.
If your computer is running Windows Vista and you do not see the Repair Your Computer policy in F8 (Advanced Boot Options menu), try the following:
Boot the system normally, type CMD in the search box, right-click CMD and select “As Disk Administrator”.
At the command prompt, enter the following sale for  and press Enter each time you run this command:
If that works, the recovery methods will begin in a minute or two.
If the parallel methods don’t work, the only way to format the hard drive is to use the Windows System Operations CD. If you do not have CDs and are using US services, please use this link below to get a copy of the backup set for your convenience:

I don’t have a Vista dedicated recovery disc, but I am looking at the d: / restore partition. I want to help reformat and restore Vista to C: drive.
I cannot access the Recovery trigger with Reboot-F8 because it does NOT give me any healing or recovery options, presumably because XP was installed on drive C. (I feel like that I need to restore Vista.)
I also tried this with the WinXP install disc – revive – brings me to the C prompt. Then when I go to drive D, I might want to go to PCRestore.exe, but in this “restore” mode it still won’t start exe. and the file.
Any ideas? I want to reinstall Vista on C. I should like it. … . ??
[I have WinXP installed on E (previously a secure drive), but when I try to run PCRestore.exe from there, it goes to “Formatting …”. fabulous “Error!” report.]
