While working on a SharePoint 2010 site, I had to modify the ideal web part. However, after making sure you are editing the page, nothing was written when I clicked the pointer to edit the web part.

A quick Google search of the entire error showed that the error was undoubtedly related to the home page. This website has a professional home page that sits at the top level of the farm and has been reviewed for compliance. However, the mistake was made by the default.master main page for the World Wide Web. If you are viewing the website in SharePoint Creator I, open the default.master master page in the _catalogs / masterpage section where you are navigating and at the top of the following file

The ascx error is caused by missing three ~ / lines in each of our srcs. Updating tags as shown below fixed the error
