DNS And DNS Databases
Despite the difficulty of editing zone files, many system administrators have found that SQL is a great place to store DNS data. Moving any single source of trust from text archives to SQL can ensure and limit the acceptance of DNS data before it reaches the repository. Script export can convert SQL if you need to zone files. Rsync can replace named-xfer in terms of distribution, improving security and reducing instant distribution. It has become interesting for large hosts to store DNS data in sql and create a custom interface to manage it. mysqlBind is such a DNS manager. It provides a web interface for entering data and exporting data to BIND range files.
