One of the reasons you are unable to view DVD / CD-ROMs on your Windows 10 host PC might be a faulty procedural driver. You can reinstall the drivers so they can fix the problem. Here’s how it works: 1) Press the Windows logo and R at the same time on your keyboard, click “Device Manager”. 2) Find the IDE ATA / ATAPIATA Packet Interface ATA Packet Interface (ATAPI) is a special protocol applied to Parallel ATA and Serial ATA that allows more devices to communicate with the computer than ATA Helpers. ATA was originally designed only for hard drives and peripherals and worked so well that it could mimic the controllers from them.en.wikipedia.org.

Step 1. Please follow all the steps listed below, even if you have already done some of them before, as often the whole process will fix the problem.
Try this guide – Control Panel – Device Manager – CD / DVD – double click the device – Driver tab – click Update driver (it won’t do anything) – then right click the appropriate drive – UNINSTALL – RESTART, this is almost certainly an update to the standard driver stack …Even if you see “Don’t go,” continue below.
Then follow your procedure – keep in mind that the drive may be faulty, have a loose wire, slight corrosion on the pins (usually a laptop), and other problems.
