Trend Micro Inc. Torendo Maikuro Kabushiki-Gaisha (Torendo Maikuro Kabushiki-Gaisha) is a US-Japanese international cybersecurity software company headquartered in Tokyo, Japan and Irving, Texas. History
1988–1999
The establishment was founded in 1988 in Los Angeles by Steve Chang, his wife Jenny Chang and their sister Eva Chen (陳怡樺). [9] Company [10] was created with proceeds from Steve Chang’s previous sale of a message security key to Rainbow Technologies United States.[ 11 ]< /sup> Shortly after founding the company, the founder moved his headquarters to Taipei.[12]
In 1992, Micro Trend acquired a small Japanese device software company, Micro Trend, and moved its headquarters to Japan. He then struck a deal with processor manufacturer Intel that included selling an anti-virus product for legacy local area networks (LANs) under some sort of Intel brand. Intel paid Trend Micro royalties for US sales of LANDesk Virus Protectand Europe, although Trend paid fees to Intel for deals in Asia. In 1993, Novell began to combine this product with its network usage system. In [12] 1996, the two companies agreed to a two-year extension of an agreement that gave Trend the right to sell ServerProtect worldwide under its own signature along with the Intel LANDesk brand. Trend Micro was listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange under symbol 4704, probably in late 1998.[11] The company began trading on the US NASDAQ stock exchange in July 1999. [13]
2000s
In 2004, new CEO Steve Chang decided to help split the responsibilities of CEO and CEO of the company.[11] Company co-founder Eva Chen replaced von Chang as Trend In’s CEO. micro in January 2005[8] Chen most recently served as Chief Technology Officer of the company since 1996 and has served as Executive Vice President since the company was founded in October 1989.
