Yard-Man rolling mowers such as the 12 HP Model 130704F can be considered suitable for use on medium to small sizes. Over time, the Yard-Man Self Propelled Windrower may experience performance issues, including difficulty setting up. Often a lawnmower engine starting problem can be fixed without a potentially costly trip to the right shop.
Good Start
Why does my lawnmower not start?
Your lawnmower does not start: Other possible causes: The spark plug is loose, dirty or simply disconnected from the mower: check it, clean the fibers, reconnect and tighten. Dirty air filter: clean or replace. TopFuel is not flowing into the engine: tap on the carburetor to ease the flow of gas.
If a gardener sitting on a lawnmower engine won’t start, try starting the self-propelled mower properly. A new mower, even a used mower purchased within the last few months, may have significantly different controls and start-up procedures than an earlier model. Sit in the driver’s seat and firmly move the mower’s serrated blade lever to the off position. Depress the combined brake/clutch pedal and shift the transmission into neutral. Need to move or squeeze the throttle Large choke to choke position and speed control to fast if these controls do not match. In this case, it is enough to move the accelerator pedal to the “Fast” position. Turn the key to start the mower engine, but do not hold it in this position for more than 10-15 seconds if it was a long time ago. After the engine starts, set the throttle to the middle position, but if necessary, also move the choke to the “off” position.
Suitable Fuel
The fuel, or maybe even gasoline, used in a Yard Man lawn mower should be reasonably fresh or recently purchased from a gas station. The use of old gasoline, especially transitional gasoline that has been stored in the mower’s tank for more than three months, or possibly in the fuel tank, may prevent the mower from starting. The old gas must be dismantled and taken to a recycling center for disposal. If left for a long time, old gasoline forms varnish deposits that can clog the lawn mower’s carburetor. KaAs a general rule, waste gasoline should never be left in the lawn mower’s fuel tank. Remove old shoots from the pond with a siphon. Place one end of the siphon into the mower tank and the other end into the fuel container. Once the old fuel has been removed from the system and tank, it can be taken to a recycling center. Fill the mower’s tank with clean fuel, preferably at least three-quarters full of fuel.

The spark plug on a self-propelled lawnmower can cause starting problems if it is damaged or hidden. To check the spark plug, turn off the engine and allow it to cool so as not to accidentally touch hot parts. Remove the spark plug from the spark plug by grasping the rubber boot on the end of the spark plug and pulling it out of any lug on the spark plug. Use the special spark plug wrench to loosen and loosen the spark plug. Inspect the entire ceramic spark plug body for cracks or other signs of damage. The base of the connector of interest around the center of the circular diode should be inspected forThe presence of signs of burning. If these problems are present, a replacement spark plug should be purchased from a hardware store or small engine repair shop. A slightly carbonized spark plug can be cleaned with a small, stiff brush. After cleaning or replacing the main spark plug, relight your lawnmower spark plug and tighten it professionally with a spark plug wrench. Connect the spark plug wire to the starter plug to start the mower.
Air Filter
The lawnmower air filter features a paper cartridge filter and a new foam pre-filter mounted around it to trap dust and debris before they enter the carburetor. A dirty filter may block the oxygen that the engine needs to supply power. To gain access to the air filter, remove the nut that secures the vent cover. Then remove the mask and remove the air filter, and with it the pre-filter. After separating the two filters, they should be inspected for damage.driving. Tap the paper cartridge filter on a hard surface to remove dust and dirt, and continue tapping the filter until the tool is clean. The foam pre-filter should be washed with one or two drops of liquid detergent and warm running water. Rub the pre-filter between your hands and between your fingers to loosen and remove dust, dirt and even greasy deposits. The polyurethane foam pre-filter should be thoroughly rinsed and dried immediately before being completely installed on the mower. Both filters should be replaced if they are broken or heavily soiled. Place the cleaned or, if necessary, a new foam pre-filter around the cardboard filter, then reinsert the filter assembly into the oxygen filter housing.
