There are four variants of the K-Lite Codec Pack. From a very small kit, which certainly contains the most important decoders, to a larger and more complete kit. General differences between can options can be found at the bottom of the page. You can find detailed differences in the capacity comparison comparison and on the content pages.
These codec packs are compatible with Windows Vista / 7/8 / 8.1 / 10. Older versions are also compatible with XP.
Packages contain both 32-bit and 64-bit codecs, so they work great on all x86 and x64 flavors of Windows!

Hi Weiss: The basic version did NOT do much. Includes a reader. After all, you need to use it with a player already hosted in DirectShow like Windows like Media Player. If you’re having problems playing with WMP, check out our Frequently Asked Questions. for solutions.
We recommend that you use the K-Lite Standard which contains MPC-HC, it is the best very good player.

ACM / VFW codecs such as x264VFW and Lagarith. This type of codec is used by some video editing / media encoding applications to work with AVI details. For example VirtualDub. These
codecs are not considered to be used or required for video playback.
Important note: The K-Lite codec pack really enhances the import capabilities of professional movie editors such as Vegas Studio Movie, possibly Adobe Premiere. These applications often import only a small number of file configurations and do not support using the codecs included in the actual codec pack (DirectShow / VFW). Modern publishers often only use their own internal codecs or more efficient auxiliary codecs that are not of the Media Foundation type.

Important note: the additional filters mentioned above are not installed by default. We also do not recommend using these expired filters. They are included only for a small, meaningful group of people who have a specific reason to use them. We strongly recommend using standard decoders from the appropriate packaging. It is better.
Important Note: All of the extra features included in Mega are only useful to a small group of people today. Does not offer the function of playing additional audio or video formats. If you’re only interested in reading, the full version is fine for you.
