First, unregister the existing DLL file (using any / u switch) and then register the DLL. Thus, a regular logout clears the existing settings, which often helps with new registrations as well.

To register .dll comm, .ocx on Windows 7 32-bit, follow these steps:

1. Copy dll or .ocx to c: windows system32

2. Enter cmd in the Run menu, it should be cmd search.exe , right click and select Run as administrator

3. A prompt appears, available in regsvr32 c: windows system32

4. Enter ocxname.ocx to register .ocx

   

   or

   Enter regsvr32 dllname.dll to register the .dll

This is a strange name from Microsoft:WOW64 stands for Windows [32 bit] on Windows 64 bit.back system32 is for 64bit dlls.
