Newer Dell XP floppies (maybe 2006?) usually contain SATA drivers, unlike a regular copy of XP. They boot from floppy, or the families can integrate the drivers themselves, but as far as I understand, in most cases the positives (built-in command queue and hot swap) are not really advertised on a standard PC. Just using the legacy mode that XP already understands is literally easier / p>
This seems like a huge advantage, in particular for servers – many disks, many simultaneous disk scan requests.
EDIT: If you’ve ever been motivated to use RAID (2 disks in a well-organized array, not just the “extra” one you add to store data), you need todownload drivers. don’t ask me how to do this – I’m just an old user who wants to learn, but not as experienced as last time.
HERE Dell reinstallation instructions. However, if you perform a clean install on a new drive and then plug in an infected legacy drive, it attacks your new old drive, which could be a USB stick, for example – a very good chance that a real virus on a secure digital key is being transmitted. and when you use the hard drive key to copy data back to each new drive, it can directly infect the new one. So, two weeks ago we bought 5 Vostro 200s that arrived last Friday. So far, so good. However, we dealt with them withusing XP Home, we will have commercial versions of XP Pro from then on. I went to format and install XP Pro even though the problems started. First, I never could and never could format and install it, it came with a system CD ready for storytelling. Ok, no problem, upgraded exclusively from Home to Pro. Microsoft’s number one update suite went well, Office 2003 installed well … then nothing. Any attempt to perform Microsoft updates fails, new channels cannot be installed. Therefore, I am contacting Dell support. Your reaction is to reinstall the drivers (after the IT guy told me “be careful”). He was of the opinion that the drivers are meant to work with Home, not professionals. Oddly enough, the Dell driver download site does not show different drivers for the two systems. But I’m downloading the drivers … and they’re not ready either. What are the options? mine except arson, of course. I tried a good boot, tried uninstalling the drivers and reinstalling them (the system only installs old road users on startup, not zapaccelerates, even releases new trips, issues errors). BIOS tartan and everything is fine there. ARRGGHXX !!!! Thanks for the help, Bose
