If your company is signed in to Skype® for Business (S4B), the S4B logo will appear on the Windows taskbar. You can only see the S4B status icon in the taskbar at the bottom of the screen.
If you close the S4B window (in the background), the status and the Skype® logo symbol are still displayed on both the Windows taskbar and the taskbar.

The Skype app included with Windows 10 now has a notification area icon. That’s fine, but what if you never use Skype and don’t want it to start every time you sign in? Here’s how to get rid of it.
Of course, you can often right-click on the Skype toolbar and close this task, but it will return immediately the next time you start your computer.
Disable automatic launch of Skype via Task Manager
Fortunately, the latest versions of Skype are working again as a regular Windows application. You cannot use the built-in Skype option to disable immediate launch without logging in, but there is a workaroundway: disable it like task manager.
To find this option, press Ctrl + Shift + Esc or right-click on the taskbar and select Task Manager.
Go to the Home tab. If the tabs are not displayed, start with “Details”.
Find Skype in the list, usually right-click it and select Disable.
Skype will continue to work after its release, but you can easily right-click the Skype icon in someone’s notification area on the taskbar (don’t call it gadgets!) and select Quit Skype to quit immediately.
How to remove Skype from the taskbar in Windows 10

Please note that people can still send you Skype messages when you’re signed in, and sometimes when Skype doesn’t show up in the alert box. To prevent this from happening, sign out of Skype. In our Skype window, click on the “…” menu, then click on “Disable, click” to do it positively.
If you don’t want to use Skype at all, you can also uninstall it. Find the Skype shortcut in the customizable start menu, right-click it click the mouse and select “Delete”. Windows 10 also lets you uninstall most of the remaining built-in apps this way.
