If you get the error im002 odbc driver manager data source name not found, this guide is here to help you.
This is my first time trying to open a program in Windows XP Pro that can use PostgreSQL 9. I get an important error message, inwhich says:
There was an annoyance when trying to connect or create Production database. Details: Data [Microsoft] [ODBC Driver Manager] Original username not found and no new default driver specified
In my ODBC manager, I have an overview of custom DSNs and system DSNs. I tried to install the Postgres ODBC driver to see if that helps, but nothing worked.
The program has a connect.dat file with a file that says “OLE DB Provider = MSDASQL”. When I change the entry, I get the error “The provider was not found, it will not be installed correctly.”
I’m not sure which provider name to include in order for this to work correctly. I’ve done extensive research on this to make mistakes. Any suggestions are especially welcome.

Regarding error: [Microsoft] [ODBC Driver Manager] Data source name was not found, so no default driver was specified.
This error indicates that the data source name (DSN) specified by someone when specifying the connection configuration could not be found in the computer’s registry.

It is important that the EXE and the formbindings (ELF) of your ODBC driver were available as your application. For other popular languages, you will need a 32-bit driver for a good 32-bit application, or a 64-bit driver for a 64-bit application.
If they do not match, you can configure the DSN for the 32-bit driver. If your company is trying to use a DSN in a 64-bit application, the DSN will not be found because the registry contains DSN information in different places depending on the ELF (32-bit or 64-bit). Of course
are you the one using the ODBC administration tool? On 32-bit and 64-bit Windows, the standard ODBC Administrator product is located at
c: Windows System32 odbcad32.exe
. However, on a good 64-bit Windows computer, the 64-bit baseline is the standard. If you need a 32-bit ODBC administration tool on a 64-bit Windows system, you can find it here:C: Windows SysWOW64 odbcad32.exe

Fortect is the world's most popular and effective PC repair tool. It is trusted by millions of people to keep their systems running fast, smooth, and error-free. With its simple user interface and powerful scanning engine, Fortect quickly finds and fixes a broad range of Windows problems - from system instability and security issues to memory management and performance bottlenecks.
- 1. Download Fortect and install it on your computer
- 2. Launch the program and click "Scan"
- 3. Click "Repair" to fix any issues that are found
I see these confusing people disappear when the user uses the implicit 64-bit ODBC administrator to configure the DSN; think this is for 32 bit DSN. Then when a 32-bit application tries toConnect to this DSN, the message “Data source just not found …” appears.
-
It is also important to ensure that the spelling of the DSN matches the spelling of the DSN configured in each ODBC administrator. One bad letter is enough to not match To dsn.
Here is an article that may have more details
However, it may be a different brand of product that you are storing; This is a common problem that occurs when ODBC uses data type names.

Regarding the OLE DB provider part of your question, it looks like you have a similar problem where the application cannot find the configuration for a given provider.

I got this idea because I had the datasource name in the custom DSN instead of the system DSN

The problem may be caused by the full name of the driver, such as managing drivers from a tool
