Mega Variant is the largest of several variants in the codec pack. It has everything you need to play most of your audio and video files. What’s more, it also contains some ACM / VFW codecs that canIt is good for video encoding / editing applications.

To play video you need to use the supplied playersSelect MPC-HC and select MPC Video Renderer or Madvr as TV Renderer. These video renderers can automatically send the most important HDR metadata to the TV if it’s HDR compatible. Otherwise, move the colors of the video to SDR so that a person can view them normally on the monitor / TV.
Note. Only available hdr10 format is supported. Not Dolby Vision.
3D Video
The Codec Pack contains a functional decoding plug-in for 3D H.264 MVC video. To watch these videos properly, you will probably use the supplied MPC-HC player (64-bit) and simply select Madvr as your video renderer. To output 3D video to a monitor / TV requires Windows 8. (or x / 10 Windows 7 with another modern NVIDIA GPU).
Note. Playback from SBS and (in parallel) Top / Bottom 3D video does not meet the above requirements. Such videos are actually encoded in 2D as video. Your TV needs the ability to convert these 3D models. In the case of
NVIDIA, you must make full use of driver version 418.xx or higher.anney version. 3D support has been removed in newer versions. Is
Blu-ray
mpc-hc ready to play Blu-ray discs. There are currently two limitations: It 1) does not support Blu-ray menu. The longest playlist on the disc will be played automatically. Other titles are available through the navigation menu of the entire player. 2) You may need to decrypt the disk using an external tool. For example HD Anydvd or Passkey Lite.

There are four different versions of the K-Lite Codec Pack. From a very small but efficient package that contains only the essentials, the decoders, to a larger and more complete package. These codec reports are compatible with Vista / 7/8/8 Windows.1 / 10. Older versions are also compatible with XP. Packages contain both 32-bit and 64-bit codes So they can work fine on both x86 and x64 flavors of Windows!

Some of the
ACM / VFW codecs such as x264VFW and Lagarith. This kind of codecs are literally used by some video editing / encoding applications due to their work with AVI files. For example VirtualDub. These codecs are not used or when video playback is required. Important Note: The K-Lite Codec Pack does not extend the transport capabilities of professional video editors such as Vegas Movie Studio or Adobe Premiere. Often these imported applications only support a small set of file formats and certainly support the use of codecs, which many of them contain in the codec (DirectShow / VFW). Modern publishers often only use their own internal codecs or support only external codecs such as Media Foundation.
And a small number of optional additional DirectShow filters:

AC3Filter, alternative choice for LAV audio decoder.
Important Email: The additional filters mentioned above will surely be installed by default. We also don’t necessarily recommend using these legacy filters. It turns out they are just included for a small group of employees who have only one reason to use them. We strongly recommend that you use the most important standard decoders provided. These stay better.
Important Note: Any additional features required in Mega are only useful to a small group of people. Playback undoubtedly offers the possibility of additional recordings or video formats. If you are mainly interested in reading, the full version is enough for you.
