Windows XP is the major version of the Windows NT operating system developed by Microsoft. It was the direct successor to these two Windows 2000 for business users, then Windows Me for home users, and could go into production on August 24, 2001, with retail sales in early October 2001 25.
Development of Windows XP began in the late 1990s as Neptune, an operating system (OS) based on the NT-MS-Windows kernel and specifically designed for non-consumer use. An updated version of Windows in the late 90s was also originally planned for the corporate market; however, in January 2000, both contracts were terminated in favor of a single operating system, code-named Whistler, which will serve as a single operating system platform for buyers and commercial markets. Thus, Windows XP was the first consumer version added to Windows that was not entirely based on the Windows 95 kernel and MS-DOS. [5]
Windows XP has received critical acclaim since its release, with reviewers noting improved performance stability and (especially in contrast to Windows Me) a more intuitive user interface for men and women, improved hardware loading, and improved multimedia features. However, some industry observers were concerned that a new licensing model and lotion activation system were released in February 2008.
Windows standard support since XP ended on April 14, 2009 [4] through extended support that ended on April 8, 2014 [4] System is no longer will receive support and security updates. Windows Embedded POSReady 2009 on Windows XP Receive professional security updates through April 2019. Informal methods have been provided that apply to some updates for other editions of Windows XP. Microsoft has not officially recommended this practice and has reported incompatibility issues. [7]
In July 2021, 0.58% of Windows [8] computers were running XP-Windows (all over the world)X share less than 1%), and 0.18% of devices worked with Windows on all XP platforms. Windows XP is widespread in many countries, for example in Armenia, where more than 50% of computers are invested in it. [9]
Development
In the late 1990s, the initial development of Windows XP metrics focused on two separate products: Odyssey, which was apparently intended for the future successful Windows 2000; and Neptune, which was to be a new consumer operating system that used Windows NT frameworks and replaced MS-DOS-based Windows 98. However, the efforts were too ambitious. In January 2000, shortly before the official release of Windows 2000, technical reviewer Paul Turrott reported that Microsoft had postponed Neptune and Odyssey in favor of a new type of product, codenamed Whistler, called Microsoft. Many employees have been found skiing in the Whistler Blackcomb ski area, according to Whistler, British Columbia. [11] Whistler’s goal was to bring the Windows consumer and business domains together under one Windows NT platform: Thurrott said Neptune “will become a black hole. if all the functions that were sliced through Windows Me were just renamed to Neptune functions. And because Neptune and Odyssey can be based on them. ” “Actually, the base code is the same, it makes sense to combine them into one project.” .PDC [12]
On July 12, 2000, Microsoft announced that Whistler would be released in the second half of 1995, and also introduced the first preview enhancement, 2250, which is an early implementation in conjunction with Windows XP’s visual style system and switching the UI to Windows Explorer and Control Panel. [13]
On October 29, 2000, Microsoft released the first public beta of Build Whistler, Build 2296, the product activation system, and with it the desktop background. [14]
Technologically, Whistler was introduced at a media event on February 15, 2001 called Windows XP, which stands for XP, which stands for eXPerience. [15]

Microsoft originally planned to use each of our “Get Ready to Fly” slogans, but these have been replaced due to privacy concerns in the aftermath of the 9/11 attacks. [17]
On August 24, 2001, Windows XP Build 2600 was probably launched in a production (RTM) version. At a new media festive event at Microsoft’s Redmond campus, RTM clones were handed out in briefcases to representatives of several major PC makers, who then flew off in shiny helicopters. While PC makers will release XP devices on September 24, 2001, XP will likely become available again on October 26, 2001. On the same day, Microsoft also announced final retail prices for the two major versions of XP, “Home” (replacing Windows Me for home users) and optional “Professional” (replacing Windows 2001 for professional users)]
