OpenWrt on x86
For x86, use the same image that was used to install OpenWrt as the meaningful sysupgrade image. So if you have measured x86-64 openwrt openwrt-revision-x86-64-combo-ext4.img, you will need to select the same image to perform a system update after running Openwrt with openwrt-revision-x86. -64 installed -combined-squashfs.img.gz, you will need this image to update the firmware.

Troubleshooting
If this does not solve and does not solve the problem, try a cold start (= disconnect the power to the device, hold it for a few seconds, then reconnect it).Be careful with /etc/opkg.conf
as described here. For unknown reasons, it has often been reported that such cold adjustments are still needed after a system update. It’s really, really bad if you do it from a distance.

Package Upgrade Warning
After the very first update, it is too good to check for updated packages released after the OS firmware image was created. Please note that these updates may not be available on a device with 4 MB NVRAM. Check the free space first with df -h /
and even make sure there is at least 600KB free.
Update Installed Packages
Reinstall Packages Installed By The User vatel
After a successful update, you must directly reinstall all previously installed and accumulated packages. The package configuration files should be saved using the steps above, but not the packages themselves. You can manually reinstall packages using opkg or follow the section Backing up / restoring user-installed packages to automate the process.

When updating, the entire current installationOpenWrt is being replaced with a new version. This includes the Linux kernel, SquashFS partition, and JFFS2 partition. This is not exactly the same as when you first installed it.
The traditional update paths below will automatically save the OpenWrt config type OS and then restore the config files to custom shared folders (including / etc / config
).This will save everything like the OpenWrt Wi-Fi settings, settings, one of our device’s hostnames, etc.

The first element of the upgrade process is preparing for the upgrade. This includes documenting programs and even settings that need to be reinstalled or restored after an upgrade, and finding the right OpenWrt upgrade image for your hardware.
The next step will be the actual update. There are actually two main upgrade paths for performing an upgrade. We are using the LuCI web program command “Flash new firmware image” and at least use the sysupgrade
command on the command line. Both use the same upgrade file “â € ¦sysupgrade.bin” (more details below). Now you canuse both approaches.
After extending OS , additional customization advice is usually required to reinstall additional packages that are not the chapters of the base OpenWrt installation, to manage new OpenWrt features, or to upgrade. Update the hosting files to reflect new settings or recent packages. Please see the section for more details.
The LuCI and sysupgrade upgrade handling types work by saving some configuration files, clearing the entire file system, installing a new version of OpenWrt, and then restoring the previously saved configuration files. This means that any part of the filesystem that is not saved at all will be lost.
Of course, any manually installed software packages that you installed after installing OpenWrt for the first time must be reinstalled after updating OpenWrt.that everything fits, for example updated this special Linux kernel and installed a lot of kernel modules.
Any config files or data files that fit the locations are not specifically listeddata below will also be lost during the OpenWrt update.Be sure to review any files you’ve added or configured, including the default OpenWrt installation, to back up those items before upgrading.
Copy opkgscript – your router.Ideally, in a directory that is saved after flashing so that users do not have to copy it again.Make this special executable:
chmod + x /path/to/le/opkgscript.sh
/path/to/le/opkgscript.sh Record
By default, the -v list is saved to /etc/config/opkg.installed on write, which in turn is saved to flash. When reconnecting after updating the configuration, start your internet connection and wait for it to install:
/path/to/der/opkgscript.sh-Installation
# -v Save each scriptcat << "EOF"> /tmp/listuserpackages.shecho> & 2 user-installed packages:sed -ne '/ ^ package: [[: empty:]] * / S /// HOUR/ User installed / gram NS.'/ usr / lib / opkg / statusOEMA# Execute scriptchmod + x /tmp/listuserpackages.sh/tmp/listuserpackages.sh
Note that the script can probably list n How many packages that are part of a standard OpenWrt installation and deploy their modified configuration files, back them up and restore them automatically. In the case of installed packages, you can also see dependencies on other packages here.It is important to note only the names of the packages that you manually installed. All dependencies, including these packages, will of course be reinstalled when you reinstall the main package.
# Save the script </tmp/listuserpackages.awk#! / usr / bin / awk -f/ ^ Package: / PKG = 2 USD/ ^ Status:. * User installed / Print PKGOEMA# As you can see, run the script + xchmod /tmp/listuserpackages.awk/tmp/listuserpackages.awk/usr/lib/opkg/statut
This script simply populates the list of users (and default settings) set for packages.
Displays any package installed after the ROM was created (flash_time), although probably no package depends on it.Packages that are manually downloaded can be omitted because one of the most important listed packages depends on the best package, all manually installed packages will be installed, If the listed packages are actually installed:
cat << "EOF" / tmp / listuserpackages> .awk#! / usr / bin / awk -fBEGIN ARGV [ARGC ++] = "/ usr / lib / opkg / status" cmd = "opkg info busybox/ ^ Package: / PKG = 2 USD/ ^ Installation time: / INSTALLED_TIME = $ 2 # Find almost all packages installed after FLASH_TIME the actual event that is (INSTALLED_TIME> FLASH_TIME) cmd = "opkg which depends on" PKG "OEMA# Run the scriptchmod + x /tmp/listuserpackages.awk/tmp/listuserpackages.awk
It is also an alternative to the software mentioned above. This command lists all packages related to a file in the functionality of the global file, which has changed from the standard version of OpenWrt.
Note that the script can use multiple databases that are part of the standard OpenWrt installation, and that any modified configuration files are automatically copied but also restored. In addition, the packages have other types installed
