I need to defragment a public folder entry file on my Exchange 2000. But I got the error “No front left disk space for error.” Here’s the result:
Start DEFRAGMENTATION mode …
mdbdata pub1.STM
Temporary database: TEMPDFRG1620.EDB
Temporary stream file: TEMPDFRG1620. STM
0 A10a 20 40 50 30 60 80A 70 90 some
– | – – | —- | – — | —- | —- | —- | —- | —- | —- | —- |
АААААА ..
The process ended with error -1808 (JET_errDiskFull, no disk space left) 862 after 359 seconds.
I don’t understand, the database document and the public folder stream file are indeed about 16GB in size, while the hard drive (D 🙂 gives you about 35.5GB. This is more than 110% of the disk space required for defragmentation, as in this article:
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=192185
My database file, if it is intact (hopefully …), is there a way to defragment it? Maybe this temp file was created in C: build, which is much smaller?
The problem is that you don’t have enough space to defragment.
You must find110% of the amount of disk space that you are defragmenting.
Your best bet is to copy the programs to another volume or server and run ESEUTIL from there.

The problem is almost certainly that you don’t have enough room to let off some steam.
You must free 110% of the available disk space that you are defragmenting.

Airborne -> Exchange Defragmentation Issues (Aug 23 15:46:00 2006 PM)
Due to changes in the business, some attention has been paid to the Exchange 2003 Enterprise Server. I was warned if the Disk partition also had less than 3% free disk space. After a little maintenance, I seem to have been able to free up about 3-5% of most of the space. Still not where we would like to be.
The .edb file is 47 GB, the .stm file takes up exactly the remaining 62 GB of usable space. I wanted to use eseutil to compress most of my custom files, but found that there just wasn’t enough space on the server to do this. I attacked a physical 250 GB USB drive (con (Usually not the most desirable from a performance standpoint, but thought it was enough for all maintenance) and used it as a temporary space for defragmentation. Defragmentation was performed immediately after an unsuccessful error: requires manual local disk space for defragmentation, even if the user has set / t? Any help is appreciated. |

Airborne -> Exchange defragmentation issues (23 Aug, 03:46 pm in 2004)
Due to the change of operator, Exchange 2003 Enterprise Server has received little attention. I received a notification when the disk had less than 3% free space. After a little maintenance, I was able to free up an additional 3-5% for storage. Still not where we want to be.
The .edb file will be 47 GB, the .stm file will undoubtedly take up the remaining 62 GB of disk space а. I wanted to use eseutil to compress all files, but found that it just doesn’t return enough server space to do this. I attacked a 250GB external USB stick (definitely not the right performance, but thought it was good enough for maintenance) and used it as a super fast defragmentation. Defragmentation occurred shortly after the failure error: requires local document storage for defragmentation even if the client specified / t? Any help is appreciated. |
