Hi guys, today I’m going to tell you about the simplest things you need to know if you want to be a hacker or be the perfect hacker (whatever). In this guide, I will explain to you “Locations where security passwords are stored in the Windows operating system”. Various readers of my blog have asked me where passwords are actually stored in Windows. So today I will explain to you where the password is actually stored … So read on …
This tutorial is program oriented, which means different storage locations for different software and window box components …
You Need to Know First Most passwords are stored in the registry. So, you need to know how to access the registry. In most cases, passwords are encrypted, so you can find a decryptor to decrypt them.
Note. Windows profile means C: / Document and Settings / (User Account) / Application Data
2. Click Run.
3. Enter (without quotes “regedit”) in the “Run” box. Then this window opens. Now someone is ready to take care of it.
Passwords should be kept in a secret location in the registry known as the “Secure Store”.
The source key of the secure vault can be found under the following key:
“HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftProtected Storage System Provider”.
You can find the above key in the registry of the corresponding editor (RegEdit), but usually you cannot see the passwords because they are encrypted.
Moreover, this key cannot be easily forced to come from another computer, as is the case with standard registry keys. New
Internet Explorer variants store passwords for 2 different storage locations.
1. Autocomplete passwords can be found at
HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftInternet Registry ExplorerIntelliFormsStorage2.
