Norton Security immediately started blocking Outlook Express email receiving – Pop3 server timed out – disable email protection and everything works fine. I tried to change the email settings in Norton – stop scanning outgoing email, etc., but unfortunately to no avail. Only complete disabling of email verification works. It worked a few days ago.

Hello micktss, and have fun in the community. I also use Outlook Express 6 and have no problems so far. As SendOfJive said, are you still using port 110? To check your email, click Tools, then Accounts, in your email account. Please select your makeup and click “Properties”, always click “Advanced”. This should show the outgoing port (SMTP) and the incoming port (POP3) that you can use. I hope this helps you.

Thank you for your reply – Outlook Express always uses port 110 for incoming mail and 25 for outgoing mail.

Go to Norton Network Settings, Email Security, Email Scanning, Antivirus and click Configure [+]. Make sure the “Protect against timeouts” checkbox is checked.
If clients need to turn off deep filtering, mail agents should be aware that this does not significantly compromise your security. Auto-Protect detects or blocks access to any malware that might be detected by email scanning. You can have Norton. display a “Fix it now” warning if you can disable scanning. However, this canIt can be turned off by hovering over each of our “Email Protection” words in the main Norton window and selecting “Ignore” in the window that appears to ignore the scan on / off state. From emails, I would say an event parameter controls the health of unique protection components.

First, double-click the Norton icon, which is often found on the desktop.Click the “Options” button in the huge interface. Now click on the Email link.Uncheck the Scan incoming emails box to disable this feature. Finally, save your changes by clicking the Save button.
Nothing has changed since my system. Norton Internet Security 2011, Windows Pro xp Service Pack 3 (SP3). However, it was blocked prior to disabling email and Outlook Express scanning. I went online to check my Talk Talk email alias (tiscali). When I signed up, they told me that my password was secure enough and longer – it has 6 letters, and now they have a critical number of 8. I changed it online and thenin Outlook Express. But I don’t think it has anything to do with who changed Talk Talks and blames them for Denis and Norton.

Yes, timeout protection is subject to verification. And I blocked the facility and warned him. It’s good to know that I’m still protected.
