Over the past few weeks, some of our readers have encountered an SMTP error message on their iphone. This problem occurs for several reasons. We’ll cover them below.
If your business is unable to send email using the email program on iPhone, iPad, or iPod, there are several solutions you can try.
Before The Person Starts
There are definitely a few things to consider and check:
- If you back up your iOS, possibly iPadOS, to iCloud or iTunes, it will affect your email settings, but not your correct email. Deleting or changing your email account settings may delete previously downloaded emails from your device.
- Make sure most of your devices are connected to the Internet.
- Check with your email provider if there is a service outage.

If you receive a message that your email has not been delivered, it will be sent to your inbox. Check your inbox and try sending the email again by following these steps:
- In the Mail app, click Mailboxes in the upper left corner.
- Click Outbox. If you don’t see your Outbox folder, your own email has been sent.
- Click “Email” and in all outgoing mailboxes. Make sure the recipient’s marketing email address is correct.
- Click Submit.
Confirm Your Email Address And Therefore Your Password
If Mail asks you to enter the webmail password for your account, make sure it is correct. Login to your siteyour email provider to verify your address and password.
If you still get a male or female username or password, contact your email service provider or system administrator.
Contact Your Current Email Provider Or System Administrator
- Check with your email provider or check the status on the website to analyze if there are any service disruptions.
- If you have any security features or restrictions related to security features or restrictions, please ask a family member or system administrator to email your account for this two-step verification. You may need a special password, or you may need to ask your email provider for permission to send and receive emails on your new device.

Delete Your Email Profile And Set It Up Again

- On an iOS device, go to Settings> Mail, then tap Accounts.
- Tap the billing email address you want to delete.
- Click Remove Account.
- Add your account again.

The following should be noted and verified:

If Mail asks you to enter a password for your current email account, make sure your security measures are correct. To check your newsletter and password, log into your email provider’s website.
If you still receive an error message regarding your username or password, contact your email service provider or system administrator.
Contact Your Supplier Or Possibly Your System Administrator By Email
- Contact your vendor or check their home page to see if there is a software glitch.
- Email your vendor or sysadmin if people have enabled security features or requirements such as two-step verification to email your website. You may need a special password Alternatively, you may need permission from your own email provider to send and search for emails on your device.
Go to your iPhone’s settings.Click “Mail” to access your email settings.Tap Accounts.Tap the appropriate mailbox account.On the next screen, tap your email account again.Click SMTP on all OUTGOING MAIL SERVERS.
From the home screen, tap Settings.Scroll down but click on Passwords & Accounts.Tap the email card you want to edit.Click Collect Emails to change the settings.Scroll down to see Outgoing Mail Server and click SMTP.Click on the Primary Server type to change it.
From the home screen, tap Settings.Click the Accounts and Passwords button.Tap YOUR EMAIL ACCOUNT.Tap YOUR E-MAIL ACCOUNT again.Scroll down to that outgoing mail server and select “SMTP”.Select the exact mail server listed in the Primary Server section.
