Over the past few days, some of our users have reported that Solaris auto-boot was detected on error = false.
The following information describes the various most important ways of presenting andSet launch attributes on SPARC and x86 forms. Especially for tuning informationBoot attributes entirely on x86 systems, either at boot time or using bootadm , learn about x86: Adding kernel arguments by editing the GRUB menu at boot time.

SPARC: Displaying And Running Configuration Attributes Using OpenBoot PROM

If you want to run one of the following campaigns, you mustto change the default device:
-
Add a new disk to the system forever or timesbut
-
Change the network policy for shoes
-
Temporarily start the autonomous system in normal mode from the network
For a complete list of PROM commands, see Monitor (1M) and eeprom (1M).manual pages.
SPARC: How To Pinpoint The PROM Version Number Of Any Type Of System
- Place the system in the ok state from the PROM prompt.

- Display the version number of the PROM system by running the Banner command.

SPARC: To Identify Devices In The System
You may need to identify devices on the system if you need to determine this.the corresponding devices from which you will return to download.
Before you can safely use the probe requirements to determine which devices they areconnected to our own system, you should do the following:
-
Change PROM value autoload? to false .
ok setenv autoloading? false
-
Enter the reset-all clear command in the marketplace.estre.

OK, reset everything
You can see the check commands available for your procedure fromusing the command sieve probe :

If you run probe commands without paying for system registers, then:displayed message:

- Identify specific devices on the system.
ok Probe- device

ok setenv autoloading? truthstart automatically? = true
- Boot the system into a kind of multiuser system Status.
ok reset - all
The following example shows how to identify the devices connected to each system.

You can also use these devalias commands to identify the device alias andincluded paths of devices that can remain connected to the system. For example:
SPARC: This Is How You Define The Default Boot Device
- Transfer the structure to the PROM prompt ok .Init
# 0
- Specify these standard boot devices.
ok printenv boot device
- boot device
-
Specifies the specific parameter of the device value from which, unfortunately, it is loaded.
For more information, see the dedicated printenv (1B) man page.
By default, boot device is displayed in the same formatNext:
Boot device = / pci @ 7c0 / pci @ 0 / pci @ 1 / pci @ 0.2 / LSILogic, sas@ 2 / disk @ 0,0: a
If the value of boot-device dictates the network boot device, the output is usually the sameto the following:
boot-device = / sbus @ 1f, 0 / SUNW, fas @ e, 8800000 / sd @ a, 0: a n/ sbus @ 1f, 0 / SUNW, fas @ e, 8800000 / sd @ 0,0: computer network
SPARC: How To Change The Default Boot Device Using Boot PROM
You may need to identify devices on the new system before usingcan change the default device to shoe or boot to another device. Additional identification informationDevices in the system see SPARC: How to identify devices in the system.Name = “SBOOThbsparcboot-step-3″>
- Finally, bring the system to the ok PROM prompt.
# initialization 0
- The value of changing the boot device is fine to appreciate.
ok setenv boot-device device [ n ]
- device [ n < / var>]
-
defines the value of the boot device , such as hard drive or network . n can be the specified memory number. One use codeo probe if you need help figuring out the disk number.
- Check to see if the default shared boot has been changed.
normal boot device printenv
- Name = “hbsparcboot-step-7″> Register a new boot device value.
ok reset-all
The new value of boot-device is heavily written to the PROM.
