Troubleshooting Tips For Disabling Kernel CRC Checking

It appears that some of our readers have encountered a known error code when disabling kernel CRC checking. This problem can occur due to many factors. We will review them below.

    To disable checksums on an active filesystem, make sure the filesystem must pass fsck. It is then stripped from metadata_csum using tune2fs, for example tune2fs -O ^ metadata_csum / dev / path / to / disk. Some newer processors (Intel, i.e. SPARC) offer a hardware accelerated implementation of CRC32c.
