If the Ubuntu error dependency sun-java6-jre cannot be implemented on your system, this blog post might help you fix the problem.
I am trying to install bindiff. When I try to deploy through the Archive Manager, I only get the following message: “Dependency unsatisfactory: sun-java6-jre”. (I am using 12 ubuntu.10)
sudo add-apt-repository "deb http://archive.canonical.com/ lucid partner"sudo add-apt-repository ppa: ferramroberto / java
I even now have Java 7 installed and completed the sudo apt-get update
I tried “sudo arranged apt-get sun-java6-jdk” and got this:
sudo install apt-get sun-java6-jdk reading package lists … tree creation doneReading dependency status information … Done The sun-java6-jdk package is not available, but it was shipped in a different package. This could necessarily mean that the package is missing, outdated, or available only from an additional source
IT WAS RESOLVED AS FOLLOWS:sudo add-apt-repository ppa: webupd8team / javasudo apt-get updatesudo apt-get take off Java-Commonsudo apt-get install oracle-java6-installersudo apt-get clear regular coffee

Additional info: I also downloaded “jdk-6u20-linux-i586.bin” and just tried to install it (it was designed so you can install my desktop) but I don’t know how to get into a large system – a large one available installation area. So even after installation I am writing “java” in terminal and I get an error message.

Subject: Sun-java6-jdk Could Not Be Installed
Update: used default-jdk and installed openJDK-jdk then openJDK-jre. I tried Netbeans and everything seems to work fine automatically.
However, I’m trying to download Frostwire and its deb package says “Error: dependency cannot be satisfied: sun-java6-jre”
How can i do this?

Installer Originally posted by xumuk37
Try to extract the Sun JDK from the Sun website , create a use herefile and double-click it …
In fact, it was not made executable by double clicking on the executable.
Having downloaded the application in advance, copied it to the / usr / lib / jvm folder
Code:
./jdk-6u20-linux-i586.bin
Accepted and installed the license. Seriously though, when I type “java” in the terminal, it still says
The “java” program can be implemented in the following packages:
* openjdk-6-jdk
1.ecj
* gcj-4.4-jdk
* gcj-4th sudo 3
try: apt-get selectIf I write “./java -ver” after the / bin directory, I see Java is there. I kind of have to cook it system-wide …
