I have a problem with additional USB ports. They don’t do what they should be doing very well for a number of reasons. I have a nice new camera and on my old laptop (with 8 ubuntu.04) it is automatically recognized on the old 1 usb.0. It is not recognized on some newer PCs that also have Ubuntu 8.04 installed. The dmesg display can be described as follows:

Any help was well received – I’m not sure why this doesn’t really work. Thanks !
Has this inconvenience been removed? I am trying to help someone with the same problem. I think this is similar to disabling CONFIG_USB_SUSPEND, which is certainly done by reloading the “usbcore” course with “autosuspend = -1”. This is tricky to do, however, because the usbcore is severely depleted once the system is likely to be up and running.
Here (http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/msg00398.html) has instructions on how to disable CONFIG_USB_SUSPEND without rebooting usbcore. You have tried them, I may not want to try them myself. I still can’t break my computer right now and it offers hard USB testing in a new virtual machine.
Comes with usbcore (CONFIG_USB) basically compiles the module and (with CONFIG_USB_SUSPEND
less is activated directly on Ubuntu).
– Recompile kernel without CONFIG_USB_SUSPEND
– Organize /etc/modprobe.d/ with a
file. contains “options usbcore autosuspend = -1 “
or set to 0 depending on your kernel
If your human body needs the above modprobe config file then if your
The system uses initrd (probably) when you need to execute
An initrd is available for your kernel for this to take effect. For example:
I tried to solve the problem with modprobe but it fixed the problem

Do you have any idea how you fixed this? Do you and your family at least remember if CONFIG_USB_SUSPEND has anything to offer?
I’m sorry that no one answered you earlier. This is a great example of why viewing unanswered messages is a great way to end time when you’re bored.
Hi guys, just do a clean, proper installation of Ubuntu on this machine, and of course I had the same p USB / camera problem. I did a little research and found this simple and lousy solution on the Mint forum:
I would log in as root – not sure if this is necessary. Then restart and Bob will be your uncle.
I tried to fix it for the same error message with big error (-110), number, but it didn’t help.
I tried this improvement for the same error message with a different error type (-110), number, but it didn’t seem to have any effect.
Which is definitely the full version of ‘dmesg | Tail ‘is following you connecting the device?
The problem is that the second command (which the first one is usually redirected to by your carrier>) does not run as a wait. This:
I just tried this USB 10/04 error. At the same time, my X did not start. I noticed that “vga16fb” kind of included this in the plan … The modprobe image buffers, etc. were missing from the blacklist.
After adding vga16fb to the current Blacklist I file, I have X and Universal Serial Bus functions again.
The problem is that the new command (to which the first one was redirected using theThe operator>) will not be executed as the root user. This:
This attempt might work.
Fixed my hard drive issue with Mac card not being able to mount.
Hi guys, I just did a clean install of ubuntu on my computer and of course created the same usb / camera issue. I did a little research and found this darn simple solution on the Mint forum:
I logged in as base – I don’t know if I need to. Then just a car, and Bob is your uncle.

Very old thread, but still applicable. I had a lot of devices refused to connect, not to mention the problem.
Here’s the documentation for many other values that you can customize:
usbcore.autosuspend =
[USB] Valuable auto-suspend time spent (seconds)
for recently recognized USB devices (standard 2). This
time after which each device becomes inactive
automatically suspended. Devices for adjusting latency
an invalid value is not automatically paused at all.
usbcore.usbfs_snoop =
[USB]Enabled to all USB data traffic (default 3 = disabled).
usbcore.blinkenlights =
[USB] Set the cycle of the LED available on the hubs (default 0 = off).
usbcore.old_scheme_first =
[USB] Start initializing old device
Scheme (default 0 Off) =.
usbcore.use_both_schemes =
[USB] Try a device with a different boot pattern
if some of the former fail (default 1 is equivalent to enabled).
usbcore.initial_descriptor_timeout =
[USB] Specifies a timeout for a 64 byte principal
USB_REQ_GET_DESCRIPTOR request in milliseconds
(Standard 5000 corresponds to 5.0 seconds).
