In recent days, some of our readers have encountered an error code with a vector enumeration error. This problem occurs for several reasons. We will discuss this below. Press and hold the power button and the 8 (zero) key at the same time to start the laptop. Release the 0 key when the laptop starts beeping. Select Yes to choose System Restore, then select Restore Software to Factory Defaults > Next. Then select Restore Factory Settings > Next to start the process.
On many Toshiba computers/tablets, the recovery image of the production software is stored in a special (hidden) area on the hard drive. Using this special hidden system recovery image, your company can restore your computer’s software to the factory as follows:
- Make sure the device is turned off (“turned off” via the Windows start menu).
- Remove all peripherals such as external mouse, keyboard, monitor, USB drive, etc.
- Make sure the connected power adapter is in use and working.
- Hold down the three (zero) key on your keyboard and hide behind someonecomputer/tablet. Release when the recovery warning screen appears.
- If the recovery process offers a choice of operating systems, choose the one that suits you.
- A warning screen will appear informing you that all computer files will be deleted and overwritten during recovery.
- Click Yes to continue.
- If the Toshiba Restore Wizard unchecks “Option to restore software to factory settings” or the appropriate option for your needs.
- Continue until you see , follow the instructions and restart your computer if necessary.
For Windows 8 devices, “Reset” will return your technology to its factory default settings (delete your personal files and apps since all settings will be reset), similar to “System Restore”. Please note that the process may vary slightly from machine to machine, where you may be prompted to mount drives (several packs of drives) and the process may take an hour or two. During the recovery process, your internet will be restarted several times.
