Can I restore my WHS installation by reinstalling WHS without losing the backups and settings I already made? … the separation makes sense, so hopefully in the future it will be possible to fix the operating system without interfering with the backups.
(Why? I assembled hardware for the US. Did, buy a motherboard with new nVidia chipset it doesn’t have Windows Server 2003 drivers. It worked fine with several other drivers until I got persistent and tried to install and remove add-ons. It’s unstable now, but I hate starting with full backups and losing that backup history!)
Thanks,

Doug,
No problem. Just download a new one from the server DVD and choose our own “reinstall” option. This alone will delete the C: partition and reinstall the operating system. However, there may be several advantages.Advances, don’t forget the drivers if necessary, and remember that if you have a large amount of data, the installation may appear to be stuck. This is not the case, it just recreates almost all of the corresponding pointers and so on. Also, you will try to add your clients and just about any customization like add-ons etc. whatever you think you are done

Can I reinstall my WHS or WHS installation without losing my backup and write settings? I see WHS is being replaced with one physical disk in 2.partitioned into logical disks, so I want to be able to restore any operating system without interrupting the backup No copying.
(Why? I assembled the hardware myself. I managed to make money on a motherboard with an nVidia chipset, which in turn does not have Windows Server 2003 drivers. It worked fine with other drivers until I got persistent and tried to install add-ons besides uninstall. Now it’s just unstable, I don’t like starting with full version and saving and losing my save history!)
Thanks,

Can I restore my WHS configuration or reinstall WHS without losing my existing copies and backup settings? I see that your WHS is split into 2 realistic disks across one physical disk with one partition. So I hope it will be easy to fix the operating system without messing with the backups.

Doug,
No problem. Just download the Server DVD and choose the “Reinstall” option. This alone will delete the C: partition and reinstall the operating system. However, there are a few caveats, don’t forget the drivers if necessary, and keep in mind that the installation may freeze if you find yourself having a lot of evidence. This is not the case, it just rebuilds most of the correct pointers, etc. Also, you need to get your clients and all settings back, as such add-ons, etc. may suffer. p>

No problem. Just fire up the Server DVD and choose the “reinstall path”. This alone will delete the C: partition when reinstalling the operating system. However, there are a few credible caveats, be aware of the drivers if necessary, and keep in mind that the installation may freeze if you have a large amount of data files. This is not the case, it just recreates all the relevant pointers and so on. Also, you will need to re-add and add your clients and all settings as such, add-ons, etc.

It makes sense to perform a direct, non-destructive reinstallation of linked Windows, which will restore all of your map files to their original state without damaging your personal data or installed channels. All you need is a Windows DVD and a Windows CD key.
Manually double-click the Setup.exe entry in the root directory. Please select a solution when prompted “Z Download and install updates. ” Select this option if your computer or laptop is connected to the Internet. Otherwise, select Not now. Click Next with the Next button. In the next pop-up window, click on “Edit what should be saved successfully.”
While you will keep all application files and software, reinstalling will remove some items such as custom fonts, system icons, and Wi-Fi credentials. However, as part of the tools, the configuration will also create a good, reliable Windows. an old folder that should contain everything from your previous installation.
