Recently, some of our users encountered a known error in the windows Kernel File Window. This problem occurs for several reasons. We will discuss this below.
The Windows kernel is, of course, the software key that Windows should work with. The kernel manages important services such as scheduling, starting, and terminating processes. Initialize, run programs (programs that interact with hardware) and make sure the memory is allocated correctly.
What is the name of Windows kernel file?
In computing, ntoskrnl.exe (short for Windows NT Doing System work Kernel Executable), also known as the kernel image name, provides a kernel and executable location in the Microsoft Windows NT kernel open space and is responsible for various system functions. e items such as equipment. abstraction. What is the filename of the Windows kernel?
Subroutines, software directly into the kernel library, are traditionally prefixed with “Ke”, such as KeGetCurrentThread. For an up-to-date list of the kernel routines library, see Kernel Support Library Routines.
Note
The term microkernel is still not applied to the kernel currently used in the Windows operating system.

The kernel maintenance system implements the kernel upon which the functionality of everything else in the operating system depends. The Microsoft Windows kernel provides simple low-level operations such as scheduling thread routing or hardware interrupts. It’s the heart of any operating system, and the tasks it performs should be quick and easy.
What are kernel files?
The kernel is usually the heart of a portable computer operating system or system (OS). This is the main layer between the operating system and computer systems, which contributes to the management of processes and memory, file systems, device management and networks.
Routines that have a direct interface to a kernel library are usually prefixed with “Ke”, such as KeGetCurrentThread. For a list of most of the kernel routines library, see Support Library Kernel Routines.
Microkernel, on the other hand, usage means the current kernel used in the Windows operating system.
This article is about programming a file containing other parts. The text points to the Windows kernel. For the Windows NT kernel package itself, see Architecture, related to Windows NT.
In the computing realm, ntoskrnl.exe (kernel executable for short due to the Windows NT operating system), also known as the kernel image, provides space for the kernel and runtime layers of the Microsoft Windows NT kernel and is responsible for various system services such as as a hardware abstraction, scheduling and memory management, making it a fundamental part of the system. The cache builds the executor, the manager, you know, the kernel, the security link monitor, the memory owner, and the scheduler.[1]

Probably this system binary is not native (because it’s not related to ntdll.but dll
), has its own default “initial” entry point created from a function that creates an independent from architecture file the kernel calls the initialization function. Although ntoskrnl.exe is not related to ntdll.dll
, vs is related to it. bootvid.dll
, hal.dll
and kdcom.dll
. Since this requires a static copy of the runtime objects, fromOn which it depends, the size of the executable file is usually close to 10 MB.
In general, there are several kernel file images, each for a revision attached to Windows, and a kernel file image, two for individual Windows systems. Multiprocessor or uniprocessor files were selected during installation, PAE or non-PAE files selected for one or the boot.ini option in bcd depending on the characteristics of that processor.[a]< /up
In recent versions of Windows, there was only one ntoskrnl.exe covering both SMP and uniprocessor scripts.

Where are kernel drivers stored Windows?
Routines directly map ntoskrnl prefixes to their names, using them to indicate which ntoskrnl component they are defined in. The following table shows some of them.
prefix | value |
---|---|
Copy | File cache[2] |
cm | Configuration Console Manager, Kernel Mode page related to the Windows Registry |
CSR | Functions used to communicate with some Csrss win32 subsystem process,.exe (csrss stands for Client/Server Execution Subsystem) |
Dbg | Debugging functions, supporting them with software breakpoints |
Ex | Windows some executive, “outer layer” Ntoskrnl.exe |
Extension | Windows Executive Private: executive-level routines that are not sold to be called outside the account manager (p=private) |
Fsrtl | Filesystem Shared Library[3] |
Io | I/O manager[4] |
Ke | Main Main Procedures[5] |
Ki | Subroutines in the kernel that are not even exported to be called, external for example the kernel (i=internal) |
Ks | Main Broadcast |
Ldr | Load functions for working with PE files |
LPC | Local procedure call, undocumented internal mechanism for passing messagesbetween processes or users/kernels. |
Lsa | Local security agency |
Sea | Memory management routines are not exported for mobile phones outside of the memory manager (i equals internal) |
Mm | memory management |
No | Nls for native language support (similar to positive code pages). |
